Nightmare Zone is a really fun indie horror game. The two developers really has put a lot into this. The levels look really different from each other and are really well put together. The sounds and noises even more amazing! The bird sound, gets me every. single. time. The background music does a really good job with getting on my nerves and making me sweat even when the monsters aren't even close yet. And the glitch effect, love it. Awesome, awesome game.. can't wait to see what they come up with next! <3

"Nightmare Zone" is a low key asset flip, a bunch of other people's assets assembled badly to make a basic game, typically this kind of thing is done by amateur developers without sufficient budget, talent and/or staff to do the job of game development professionally. It's then quickly rushed into Steam Direct. And, unsurprisingly, this never results in a product with any quality, interest, or value for gamers. This is a laughably badly made Unity asset flip/kitbash, a couple of basic Unity asset buildings dropped around a simple map. You get chased by a jumpscare Unity asset and just have to bolt to find a door... that's it. Valve really needs to think about some quality control for Steam Direct. So, the game might look better than you'd expect from an amateur project, but this is because it's partially or completely made up of stock assets, "borrowed" from asset stores and free asset websites. Very little in this game is truly the creation of the "developer", it's just a bunch of rearranged assets. After being confused and dying for several minutes, I enjoyed this game and beat it on my first real try when I figured out what the escape doors looked like. For a free indie horror game this is essentially as predictable as you could expect. Extremely simple mechanics: run away from enemies that chase you, find a door to escape, repeat five times. The difficulty progression is well done, with each level offering a more challenging environment to run through. This is the first indie horror game I've ever really played and it got a few scares out of me. The simple mechanics allow the player to easily dodge the enemies, but the ambiance and spooky atmosphere kept me engaged enough to complete the game. I can imagine being frustrated by the level design sometimes, but I think the risk of consequence adds to the enjoyment of the game. I would call this a good game, but it doesn't do anything special, and I wouldn't dare spend more than a dollar on it. So it's a good thing it's free.

Это не просто игра, это настоящее испытание для нервов, которое рекомендуется всем, кто ищет острых ощущений и ценит качественный хоррор.
