You went looking for trouble, and you found it. One-Eyed Likho essentially throws the player into a Slavic fairy tale. It's a linear game and intended to be story focused, but if you like Eclipsium, or games that depart reality and jump into the deep end of a fever dream, then One-Eyed Likho is on the buy list. I got it on sale, but I would pay full price. These types of games are painfully short, but worth every penny. The story is a throwback to an anthology of Slavic and Russian fairy tales I read last year. The game has amusing puzzles and they are best taken literally. ~2 of the crates have codes that are unusually difficult to decipher, but they can be looked up on the web. Sound design 10/10 Gameplay 10/10 Story 10/10 I did have some stuttering in the latter half the game when loading between sections of the map because my VRAM (4GB) would get maxed for a moment. One-Eyed Likho is an atmospheric dive into the darker aspects of Slavic Folklore and Greek Mythology, featuring creative puzzles and immersive story-telling set in beautifully designed landscapes.
Best indie game (lore, atmosphere vise) I have played later! Not only it has a cool idea behind it, also it has real "byliny" incorporated in the game. Would play again!
Strong narrative driven experience with great atmosphere. Highly recommended for everyone who likes dark tales.
I really don't want to recommend this game for personal reasons but it was a good game. I did find all the Fairy Tale dialog a bit boring after a while but finishing the game doesn't depend on it. Would have been better if the story intertwined better on a personal level. Example would be, the Smith seeks out evil to understand how such evil was involved with the murder of his family. Game did have a very good level of difficulty.
