Somehow knowing that your memories cannot guide you enforces a strange feeling of vulnerability, a familiar yet alien sensation of being a part of a peculiar whole... Soon you will discover that having used the device during the expedition, you have died but then returned subtly changed, speaking of strange memories and of strange places. I kind of liked this game, but I think I would have enjoyed it better without the cheap mummy chase gimmick where I somehow couldn't run, or the run mechanic wasn't working properly and I ended up getting killed because I was WALKING. Therefore screwing up my no-deaths run. Luckily I backed up my saves to another folder beforehand. Forewarned is forearmed, no? Dumb achievements aside, I find Lovecraftian games interesting and typically outside of normal game expectations. This game, while at times quite normal, throws enough spanners into the works that it suitably unhinged me. There are a few good games out there that step over the line and into the strange and bizarre, and perhaps this one is worth your time. It is a little odd in that it mentions four scientists in the blurb, but we only ever really come to know about the protagonist and Dr Faust. There are two main endings but I couldn't say either of them are feel-good endings. Games like these ... you shouldn't expect a feel-good ending... Considering the game length, I'd say wait for a discount.2 found this helpful
It's a decent lovecraftian experience. Dont go in expecting to be terrified, tho. Not scary or tense, for that matter. Explore cool environments, enjoy lovecrafrtian flavor. Very aesthetically pleasing game with a nice story. Story: 7/10 Gameplay: 6/10 Horror: 2/10 Atmosphere: 8/10 Voice acting: 7/10 Reccomend it if you're in lovecraftian vibe and dont feel like playing a terrifying horror game.
Yikes! Total Bloatware! Sets off my computer's fans (heat reaction) immediately and no other game does that.
I get big eye-strain from this game. Even after I increased the super bad fov from 80 to 105 in the config file... It still makes me nauseous. Even the flashlight lags behind for 0,5 seconds when you move your mouse..F that.
This game is basically a continuation to The Mountains of Madness. If you like Lovecraft Lore, and don't mind that its a walking sim with some light puzzles. Tuck in.
WAIT FOR SALE! Cool game, cool story, about 4 hours to complete. Aliens, alternate dimensions, trippy world. Really enjoyed my time... BUT HOLY SH*T WAY TO MUCH READING!!!! I get that a lot of these love craftian games have a lot of clues and stuff to read but if i wanted to read a book i would go to the library lol. Other than that would recommend on sale.
