About Orc Assault
Once upon a time all was peaceful and serene in the far off land of Camalon, but the silence has been broken as the Orc hordes have returned to the peaceful kingdom to claim the land that they once held most sacred. The only thing stopping them from conquering the innocent people of Camalon is your arsenal of weapons and advanced research towers.
Progress through various waves and stages of Orc and Goblin invasions on both paths and open room scale battlefields, all along developing an increasingly sophisticated tower system to take down even the most powerful of Orcs enemies.
For a truly unique experience, you can now enter the world of Orc Assault exclusively with the HTC Vive VR headset and oversee the entire playfield. Once you play tower defense in virtual reality at room scale, you will fully understand the complete immersion that VR provides a wide range of gaming experiences. The fully animated characters and detailed animation-inspired world immerses you as you plan your final tactics and use fully tracked controller wands to plot your strategy and defend both the town on Camalon and riches beyond.

.5hrs trying to beat a single wave on launch and .2hrs to beat the game once it became too easy after the first patch. Waited for updates or content but nothing. I just noticed that this company is making a few other VR titles so I will make note to stay away from you in the future if this is the standard for your games.4 found this helpful
while rough around the edges, I like this game quite a bit. I think that tower defense is an interesting game to try to make in VR so I gae it a shot. Seems a lot more solid then I was lead to beliveve. There have been a few changes so far, and the deve seems pretty resonsive to make changes and fix things. Wish there was more in story mode, but otherwise I've played this game more than most of the other ones.3 found this helpful
I was looking for a tower defense on the Vive, so this was right up my alley. The graphics aer indeed great and really make you feel like you're controlling a minature army of defenses, just what I was hoping for. Quite challenging, but I don't rally mind that, there are a lot of different combinations to try to win the game. At first I did have some problems getting a randle on the rules of the game, becuae there is not really an explaination of how to place your towers, but I figured out that you can point at the ground and then you get a selection screen for towers. Seemed pretty strightforward as soon as I figured that out. I like the overall look and style of this game, I wish that there was some more things to grab with the controllers, but it's still totally playable now how they have it. It shows the future of tower defense, now they just need kingdom rush in VR!2 found this helpful
Now spent a little time playnig Orc Assault and i think i can say that its the game that ive been waiting for. I love some tower defense, and to be able to play it at a model playset scale in my house is awesome. You basically use the two wands in your hands to call out build instructions and establish the regular mechanics of tower defense strategy. There simply not that many games like this in VR, so this helps me get my fix. I think the other reviews are a bit harsh, but the deve had released some fixes, and i had no issues with playing the game, so i guess those issues were already fixed by the time i tried it.2 found this helpful
Orc Assault, developed and published by Ghost Machine, is an indie fantasy defense title that sets out to blend traditional tower defense mechanics with elements of real-time strategy, light role-playing systems, and experimental virtual reality support. At its conceptual core, the game imagines a desperate last stand in the land of Camalon, where waves of orcs and goblins surge forward to reclaim territory, forcing defenders to rely on constructed defenses, tactical planning, and incremental upgrades to survive. While the ambition behind this hybrid approach is clear, the final experience reveals a wide gap between concept and execution. Gameplay in Orc Assault is structured around classic wave-based defense. Players place towers and defensive devices along enemy paths, upgrading them to deal with increasingly resilient or numerous orc forces. The fundamentals will be familiar to anyone who has played tower defense games before: positioning matters, timing upgrades is crucial, and resource management dictates how aggressively or conservatively you can respond to incoming threats. Early on, the mechanics feel serviceable, offering the basic satisfaction of watching enemies fall to…
It's fun now. When I first got it I found it impossible. Now it's a very cute and fun game for the Vive. I look forward to more updates!
