RPG Maker strikes again! "Order from Caos" is one of hundreds of low effort retro-pixel RPG Maker asset/construction kit flips spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker video game construction kit... in their own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child." Like all RPG Maker "games", this is essentially a bunch of low quality/canned assets from RPG Maker coupled with a cringeworthy high school anime club fan fiction. As with all RPG Maker games, the poor quality engine displays badly in fullscreen and doesn't have full HD support or any graphics tweaking options, making this unacceptable for any dedicated modern PC gamer. The point can be made that the intention of RPG Maker is to make demos and small games to pass around friends, and shouldn't be used for "professional" game development. Like most RPG Maker shovelware and asset flips, the game features extremely low quality copy + pasted 2D retro pixel art, looks awful, and has even worse gameplay. RPG Maker is an absolutely terrible construction kit, and never results in games of any reasonable quality or value to gamers. There's no English translation for the game, but that's ok. It turns out,…

Order from Caos, developed and published by White Vortex Games, is an indie RPG that leans heavily into the traditions of classic turn-based adventures, clearly inspired by older generations of Japanese role-playing games. It tells the story of Dan, a man whose life is torn apart by a destructive force known as “Caos,” setting him on a journey shaped by loss, vengeance, and the gradual rebuilding of purpose. The narrative framework is familiar, but it aims to deliver an emotionally driven experience centered on companionship and perseverance, even if its execution doesn’t always fully support its ambitions. The gameplay structure follows a very traditional formula. Players explore a variety of locations, interact with NPCs, gather party members, and engage in turn-based battles that emphasize resource management and skill selection. There’s a notable amount of content packed into the experience, with numerous quests, enemies, and items contributing to a sense of scale. As you progress, your party grows stronger through leveling and equipment upgrades, and combat becomes a steady cycle of choosing abilities, managing health and resources, and adapting to enemy patterns. For fans of…

Not Recommended (5/10) Order from Caos has some interesting ideas, but the experience is dragged down by technical issues and frustrating design choices. The biggest problem is the number of bugs. I encountered game freezes when using certain skills, forcing me to restart and replay sections. For an RPG, that's incredibly frustrating. The driving sections aren't enjoyable either. They feel clunky and add little to the overall experience. Dungeon design also becomes tedious later in the game, especially the ones filled with switch puzzles and those annoying black ball mechanics that overstay their welcome. Quest design could use a lot more guidance. Some side quests provide almost no hints on where to go or what to do, and there were even moments where I couldn't find the next main quest because the game gave virtually no direction. There's a decent story and content here, but I can't recommend it.

Vou tentar zerar o game to quase recomeçando ele pra poder jogar melhor. Do enredo eu to gostando, luta eu to achand…

The storyline shines in this game and I loved the characters. I liked the sidequests and how everything tied together at the end. I can tell that English is not the creator's first language, but the game is still quite understandable. I found the Portuguese scripts entertaining when they flipped back to the creator's first language. All in all, an excellent Indie game that is turn based. I would have liked to see status effects take more a role along with better equipment, but this game was well balanced.

I probably could enjoy it, but after one bug to many (the last one being the game suddenly becoming unresponsive after driving with a vehicle, after grinding a bit) i'm giving up.
