About Orphans

Dive into this immersive game, taking on the role of Victoria, a young girl orphaned after a tragic sea accident, trapped in the enigmatic confines of a mysterious city. In a place full of traps and dangers, Victoria must rely on her dexterity to advance.

But Victoria will not be alone on this journey. She joins other orphaned children, inexplicably locked away for sinister purposes. Victoria's mission involves locating and liberating these children, each of whom has unique abilities crucial for overcoming the challenges that lie ahead.

But, the perils extend beyond traps and puzzles. Victoria is chased by humanoid creatures with the only goal of devouring her. In order to stop these creatures, Victoria uses the environment to create distractions with her slingshot, facilitating her escape.

Join the orphans on their journey to escape the city of animals. In this world, survival is a collective endeavor and no one can face it alone.

A moody but flawed puzzle-platformer, this game offers a haunting world and simple mechanics but stumbles with bugs, poor collectible tracking, and limited replay value This game keeps its story deliberately minimal—you’re dropped into a mysterious world with no backstory, no explanation of your character, and no dialogue to guide you. It’s a hallmark of the genre, relying on environmental storytelling and player curiosity to fill in the gaps as you move through hauntingly atmospheric locations, piecing together what little you can. You begin in the sewers, stepping into the silent shoes of a young girl. She never speaks, and there are no explicit goals laid out, but veteran players will instinctively push forward, ready to handle whatever the game throws their way. As a puzzle-platformer, the game leans more toward platforming than puzzle-solving. You’ll mostly be running and jumping through various obstacle-laden areas, with the occasional light puzzle to break up the platforming. Chase sequences are frequent and more thrilling than the actual puzzles, which are often quite basic. Momentum and timing matter far more than brainpower here. Controls are simple and streamlined—j…

Orphans is a great game, from the visuals, the mechanics and the soundtrack. This is a game about the pursuit of freedom in a world of inequality. Through the game you will encounter a lot of references that, if you are chilean, you will get at first sight. Speaking of gameplay and mechanics, this game is a 2.5D plataformer with a lot of puzzles, like Litte Nightmares and Inside, so if you liked that kind of games, I would recommend you to try Orphans. The start of the game is a little slow, but I enjoyed a lot the four last levels.

Really wanted to dig this, but just did not have a good time. Lots of issues for me. The camera seemed to actively hate me, often not panning to show more of an area was explorable. It also doesn't show you enough of what's coming up in certain areas when it would be really, really useful. When enemies are introduced there's often a cutscene. If you're holding down the run key or button during this cutscene like event you won't be able to move when it ends. You need to be very quick to start running after enemy introductions because they almost always move faster than you. Inexplicable failed jumps to ladders and ledges when everything was lined up the way it should. Stealth is slow and tedious, and increasingly frustrating when NPC orphans are involved. They often run towards enemies which means you've got to pull them out of hiding so you can reattempt things. Or they get spotted when you're trying to hide and that triggers the enemies to chase you.

Released too soon. Kept getting stuck inside of walls and really anything you can run into. I would try again after they fix it up a little bit.
