✦ AI summary

Players appreciate the core platforming mechanics and the creative wall-teleport feature across 40 levels, but criticize the game for lacking variety, with repetitive level design, minimal enemy and trap diversity, a single looping soundtrack, and visual monotony that makes most levels feel samey. Additional complaints include poor controls, screenshot functionality issues, and inconsistent jump mechanics, with most reviewers feeling the price point doesn't match the quality and limited replayability offered.

2D indie action-adventure platformer in pixel art where you explore a series of levels, avoiding traps and enemies ✅40 levels ✅Interesting option to teleport through walls ✅❌I dont know if the price is right because it has 40 levels, but the levels are very similar, and everyone has to decide for themselves whether to prioritize the number of levels or the quality (for me, quality matters; I'd consider this a drawback of this game) ❌You cant take screenshots; it's a game issue, not mine ❌Poor graphics ❌One soundtrack repeats on every level ❌Little variety of enemies or traps; the only changes are either a slightly larger map or more of the same enemies ❌No noticeable differences between levels most levels look similar ❌❌Verdict: [strike] Very Bad [/strike] , [strike] Bad [/strike] , [b] Average [/b] , [strike] Decent [/strike] , [strike] Good [/strike] , [strike] Very Good [/strike] (Rating scale for tested games) If you have any questions about my reviews, feel free to ask. Osteya is a small-scale indie platformer that leans heavily on retro sensibilities, offering a straightforward and quietly whimsical journey through a mysterious city said to exist between worlds. Developed and published by Volens Nolens Games, the title presents itself as a nostalgic throwback to classic 2D platformers, favoring simple mechanics, pixel art visuals, and a relaxed sense of pacing over complexity or spectacle. You take on the role of Seed, a lone traveler navigating the ancient structures of Osteya in an effort to uncover the truth behind its strange, suspended existence. At its core, Osteya is built around familiar platforming fundamentals. Movement, jumping, and hazard avoidance form the backbone of the experience, with levels designed to be easily understood within moments of entry. Progression generally revolves around navigating obstacle-filled rooms, collecting keys, and reaching exits, making the overall structure intuitive even for players with limited experience in the genre. This accessibility is one of the game’s defining traits, as it rarely overwhelms the player with demanding mechanics or complex systems. Instead, it aims to provide a calm, almost medi…

Simple platformer. Game has one or two quirks. My biggest issue is when the level scrolls down you can't see the teleport indicator. Other issues include inconsistent jumps on enemies and randomly dropping inputs (happened maybe twice). It's a quick pretty easy platformer all things considered. Not worth 5 dollars, but if it drops on sale, I'd give it a shot.
