Outside the Blocks

The landscape generation/modification, lighting, weather effects are all top notch. But the game is let down badly by it's building creation. It's extremely clunky, not at all intuitive and even when you do work it out, the range of available building styles is extremely limited. It's almost like the building code is from a totally different game. It just doesn't seem to fit with how elegant everything else is. I would like to recommend this, but the issues with buildings means that it's really rather limited and after about 4 hours I don't really feel like carrying on with it.

Exquisitely beautiful game for pure creativity, I get lost in this game for hours. The limited nature of the gaming space and selection of elements focuses the player's creativity giving them a wonderful sense of possibility. Both the space, elements, and even the environmental conditions are adaptable or frequently have varients to make the diorama distinct and shaped entirely by your imagination. Highly, highly recommend.

I dont understand why the controls to simply build a house or anything have to be so difficult. There are plenty of games out there to learn from how controls should work. I have to click menu after menu to get to anything and even then another keyboard control does the same thing as my mouse when I dont want it to. I love the idea of it, and the graphics are great. But the UI totally ruins it for me.

Completely unplayable, and have requested a refund. Cons: - The clicks have to be EXTREMELY precise, - The font is completely illegible unless you are right on top of your screen. I'm talking 8 point font level small. - I struggled to follow the tutorial, because again, the clicks have to be EXTREMELY precise. I cannot stress that enough. - I got about halfway through the tutorial until I had the two level box house or whatever, and it was telling me to place roof eaves on opposite sides. I did one, but could not for the life of me get the second "opposite" one, so it would never register, and never let me move on even if I just wanted to skip it entirely and mess with it on my own. - This was supposed to be a cozy game. It caused me nothing but frustration, as is probably obvious by this review. - There was no settings option that I could see. - I really very genuinely was excited for this game, but it was a massive disappointment, because it is ENTIRELY too complex to navigate or even read. - I was attempting to stream this (being my first time playing) on Twitch, and had to quit. It was THAT frustrating to attempt to figure out. Pros- - The music was nice, I guess - Literally …
