About Parry Nightmare

Easy to pick up, and hard to put down! Parry Nightmare is a one-of-a-kind "parry heaven" action game where the best offense is a good defense!
Use your nightmare's strength against it with your trusty parry move! Stun foes, send away projectiles, and stop threats right in their tracks by chaining parries!
Honno-chan will defeat any foes you stun automatically. Leave them to her and focus on the defense!
Parrying grants your soul more and more courage to face the night! Heal up by continuing to parry! Spend excess soul to unleash a powerful Burst move to wipe out hordes of enemies at once!
Collect powerups from rare foes to supercharge Honno-chan! Breathe fire, deploy orbital pain, wreak havoc, and more!
Defeated enemies drop light. Collect light and the darkness of the nightmare abates, giving you a clearer view of the chaos. Max out your light meter to beat the nightmare!
Will you be able to escape the nightmare and greet a new day...?

Sometimes you just want a short but incredibly polished experience, and Parry Nightmare absolutely nails it! The mechanics are tight and thoughtfully designed, the pacing is clean with zero filler, and the mix of chaos and quiet moments hits perfectly! The story may be simple, but it’s surprisingly relatable and hits harder than you’d expect! The art style is gorgeous, the atmosphere is immersive, and the soundtrack goes way harder than it has any right to it all just works! The gameplay is easy to understand but tough to master, and that difficulty curve really ramps up fast! You’ll feel that big spike especially later on when everything clicks and your parries start flowing together, it's such a satisfying feeling! But honestly, just when you’re fully locked in, the game ends and leaves you wishing there were just one or two more stages to keep that momentum going! That said, it’s priced fairly for what it offers and delivers a meaningful experience without wasting your time! Some sections (looking at you, School Nightmare stage!) can get a little frustrating thanks to unlucky enemy placement, and a dash button would've added a bit more gameplay depth, but those are small compl…

There's not much to this game. It's a very-very-very short game that doesn't have much going for it other than a decent self reflection story. However, they stab themselves in the foot with this: I thought this was a personal story about a person overcoming depression. No, there's a full *TEAM* of developers behind this supposedly "indie" style game. It's in sincere, is the short of the complaint there. The game is literally just 'press button when things get close. Move when button pressing isn't fast enough". It's not a good game. I beat it in its' entirety in 90 minutes. For $5 worth, but i spent $6 and I am debating on refunding it.
