Planternauts

Pointless and boring. All you do is walk around and press E. If it had been free, it might have been acceptable, but I don’t think it’s right to sell a game like this.

Planternauts is an early access planetary exploration and terraforming sandbox developed and published by Cyri that centers on ecological restoration in a science-fiction setting. Rather than focusing on combat or survival pressure, the game builds its identity around environmental transformation, placing players on barren alien worlds with the goal of cultivating life and reshaping hostile landscapes into thriving ecosystems. Its design leans toward relaxed, low-stress gameplay, encouraging curiosity and incremental progress over urgency or high-stakes challenge. The core premise revolves around stepping onto desolate planets stripped of vegetation and biodiversity. Armed with a small set of terraforming tools, players explore rocky terrain, gather plant samples, and cleanse polluted zones to initiate ecological recovery. The early gameplay loop is simple: locate flora, harvest resources, deploy environmental tools, and observe the gradual emergence of greenery. The transformation of dry, lifeless ground into patches of flourishing plant life provides a visual and mechanical sense of accomplishment. Very chill and low key. For the price point it’s great. But in its current form would probably be better on mobile or for kids. It looks like Astroneers got a Planet Crafters skin, just without the construction abilities. Planternauts seems to be mostly explore, scan, repeat. Maybe in the future there will be new additions, but it’s not really sratching that base builder itch. I think this game is ideal for anyone who wants to chill and decompress. It’s cozy in the sense that it’s very low key and cute, while not demanding, which is a nice alternative to more intense games. And I do love the concept of cleaning up a planet. If someone were to design a game somewhere in between TerraNil and Stationeers that might be an ideal spot for me.

Fun little game for what it is cheap and easy. Its a pretty looking game with nice menu music pretty chill and relaxed if you are looking a challenge go somewhere else.

This is a fun low cost game. It's not a long game. It only took a few hours to finish without using any of the navigation beacons. There are 9 grids to clear and no map. The grids are laid out in a maze like pattern so the beacons would be handy but I liked just running around using landmarks to find my way. It is pretty straight forward and weirdly satisfying. I'd recommend this game for anyone that wants something to help you decompress from a long day.

Really good chill game..run around and find asteroid fragments , scrap etc...no big hurry...really nice relaxing chill music, it's great..disregard what the naysayers dribble on about, definately worth the price, easy to pick up and play.,,love it..
