I wouldn't really call "NPC" a character which decides to which hero to assign which quest and whose choices change the fate of the world around them. It's like saying that in all tycoon/management (and some strategic) games you're playing as an "NPC". Additionally, the game is pretty clunky, especially in its controls. The core issue gameplay-wise though is that each stage has some trial-and-error components (and one mistake can mess up the whole level) and multiple possible endings and achievements, but replaying through stuff is pretty slow as there is no way of fast-forwarding already seen dialogues. This is even worsen by the fact that after a few levels, the assign-quests mechanic becomes pretty mechanical as it has no depth. The story though is funny, so if you're ok spending a few bucks for a few hours of silly (non-derogatory) dialogues, then go for it.6 found this helpful
I want to give this game a neutral. The premise is decent, but I found the gameplay boring. Rather than building up your "quest giver" reputation over one long play, you play a bunch of short episodic levels. Rules are not adequately explained, so there's a lot of trial and error, and replaying the same level I just played until I "pass". Then once I "pass" it's just more of the same. I'd prefer a continuous game that gives me a chance to learn from and correct my mistakes without repeatedly restarting, and an in-game mechanic that tracks things like "hunting bats gives this class hero extra XP". I did enjoy that I could send heroes to hunt bats, brats, cats, or gnats (but not all at once). There's an attempt to create backstories and personalities for the heroes, which is nice, but when I'm bounced from level to level, I don't feel I have a chance to get to know any of them, or my coworkers, very well.1 found this helpful
Not that good in my opinion.
Gosh, this game was jolly good fun! :D looking forward to playing more games like this. A good break from all the murder and mayhem i usually immerse in. Thank you and more power to you, Devs!
