Experienced on the Meta Quest 2
You can view my gameplay & early impressions here: https://youtu.be/esRYGeOApUc Close call on whether to give it a thumb's up or thumb's down. In the end, I found that this game was lacking in the fun department so I just can't recommend it. It's not a bad game per se, it was just boring to play. I found it was too repetitive. It felt mostly like a shooting gallery with the slingshot where you're just shooting rat after rat after rat. If the slingshot mechanic was fundamentally fun to use, it may have not been a problem. Unfortunately, the slingshot felt very out-dated and clunky to use. It's got a floating reticle and then you just have to pull back and hit the small moving targets. Some rats are big bullet sponges. Now, there are magical upgrades to make it more palatable, but again, the slingshot just isn't fun to use at all. There's also like a physics puzzle aspect to the gameplay. You need to find different things to shoot at, which have different effects. You may need to pull a lever by shooting with your slingshot and then see what happens. You may need to shoot a cabinet and then find it had a lot of rats inside. The game is…

Rat It: Plague Hunter is an Early Access VR shooter game. It worked on my Index, Quest 3 via Steam Link, and HTC Vive system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. You are shooting small moving rats with a Slingshot. Very challenging. It says it support Quest 2 only but i was able to play it using my Index. Has a story and some puzzle elements. Maybe buy on sale. I got a free key for this from the Steam Curator program. ViVE VR curator group

Rat it: Plague Hunter is an early access VR first person shooter game in which you, an alchemist explore a dark pirate ship and try to eradicate all plague bearer rats with a magical slingshot. As you advance into each room there are more and more rats to kill. Many are just running around but the further you get the more rats you need to find or lure. This adds a puzzle element to the game as you need to find objects you can interact with - shoot them with your slingshot. Some interactable objects do not hide rats, they can hide treasures as well, be it potions to recover health, coins, or alchemical projectiles. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-HtUTUju81I The gameplay is mostly this - enter a room and eliminate all the rats in it. There is a time limit before you die to poison and you can check your health on your forearm, but you can also hear it - the more you cough the less life you have (unless you take lots of damage in a single blow). Once you fail you can quickly retry. I found the slingshot mechanic fairly good. It behaves the way you'd expect. The more force you use to pull, the faster the projectile will go and the harder it will be to target. This also deals more dam…

Hmm, if I could give a 'eh' review I would. The game looks good, very reminiscent of Sea of Thieves, and the controls work well. The core gameplay is a fun enough, for the right person, and the slingshot mechanic feels good. And the few levels I played had quite some little secrets in it. And your hands reflecting the illness progressing is quite neat. But there are a few buts tho, there are areas where the in game langauge that isn't properly localized, and the only voice I've heard was the one in the in-game intro cinematic, very minor. And for me personally the game felt a bit hollow, with the rats just running around in predetermined tracks and it all felt a little bit surreal/silly, but that could be actually a plus. And for a party game or some casual enjoyment I'm certain that there is an audience for this game, sadly not me.
