I like it

I'll start by saying I've always disliked rhythm games because I'm hilariously bad at them, no matter how hard I try, I can barely beat songs on Medium difficulty on any games I've played. This game however, has such brilliant design that makes the game super intuitive and accessible to play. One would think that having to manage different enemy types as the notes would make it considerably harder than most rhythm games, but the way the gamified the genre actually does the exact opposite. By treating it as a non-rhythm game where you just have to think about the enemies instead of the song or beats, it allowed me to develop a sense of rhythm in the background to engage with this genre in a way I never thought possible. I started barely getting A ranks on medium difficulty, and after 60 hours I now have S/S+ on 3/5th's of the base game in HARD mode, and feel confident enough to try other rhythm games in the future. For actual rhythm game players, I will say that most (probably all if we exclude DLC) charts in the game are incredibly fun and intuitive. Great game! So many fun quirks and levels, every song is fire, and you'll almost NEVER run out of content.

This game might be the closest thing to Guitar Hero on the Steam Store at this time and I REALLY enjoy it! (However, I find the inclusion of the mini-games and boss battles in a different style than the rest of the game to be questionable and frustrating.)
