Experienced on the Meta Quest 3
You can view my gameplay & early impressions here: https://youtu.be/zg4gynB2lxw I think this is a nice game. It's a roguelite arcade combat game that's perfect for a group of friends who are looking for a casual night of bashing piñatas in online multiplayer co-op. It's easy to get into and it has enough upgrades and stuff to keep it interesting for a while. Unfortunately, it's a little over-priced for what it is. It's solid, it's mostly polished, but it's also not exactly ground-breaking. If I compare to another rogue-lite, like Hexwind, then I have to say that Hexwind is a lot more fun for a lot less of a price. Now, if you have children and this is their first rogue-lite, then yeah it may be worth the price. But this is casual, arcade fun with plenty of upgrades, but not a whole lot of depth behind the combat. Game is running on the Unity Engine. On my RTX 3080, I was getting a steady 90 fps. You do have smooth or snap turning available. I only encountered three issues (two minor and one more serious). The game would always start out with teleportation (even if you change to free locomotion). It's also too low to the ground by defau…

Amazing game, highly recommended! So far, I've played for about 8 hours on Steam and around 12 hours on Meta, for a total of 20 hours of game play. This game has become one of my favorite VR experiences. Every time I play it's been a blast and has left my friends and I wanting to come back for more. Since it's a roguelike, it has that great game loop where you collect candy, get upgrades, and power up through the run. Each run is fresh and lets you try different combinations of weapons and upgrades. During the run you also collect 'meta' candy to spend back at the garage to give "permanent" upgrades to upgrade your stats between each run. You can also sell/refresh any time to re-do your build which is an awesome feature. Currently there are 6 levels, and 6 playable characters that you unlock as you progress. There are also an incredible amount of weapons, even after 20 hours I still haven't unlocked them all. Each level also has multiple difficulty settings, with the base difficulty already offering a great challenge for myself and friends who are seasoned VR players. It's not without it's flaws, as there are some bugs here and there but overall nothing too major. The biggest…

Works on Reverb G2. Disclaimer: I've received this game for free via Curator Connect. This is a neutral review. I enjoyed playing Rogue Pinatas, but it is not a very good game. Vampire Survivors-like elements are really fun and addictive here, but combat is too basic and unpolished. Progression system is smooth and satisfying, both inside the level and persistent meta upgrades. Numbers keep rising, and you can really see their impact on the battlefield: fully leveled-up weapons shred through waves of enemies. New stage, weapon, perk or difficulty mode is unlocked every successful run at least for the first several hours. If only combat was on the same level as progression system in RP, it would have been a stellar game. Melee is clunky and promotes flailing, shooting is mid. Hitboxes of everything are huge and imprecise. Getting too close to enemy models or level borders breaks continuous locomotion for a few seconds. Enemies have very few animation frames, so only ragdoll physics make hitting them any fun. AI of some bosses is broken, which may lead to them going off the stage and making it impossible to finish the level. And 3D sound is all over the place for every boss, when…

Funny concept, but so so laggy and buggy on PC. Perhaps Quest version is better,
