About Rogue Stargun

One hundred years ago the Federation Galactica fell in a great calamity.

The sentient races of the galaxy parted ways, and petty warlords took control of the great hyperspace gates.

Now your world is dying. Invaders from the Outer Rim have devastated the last of the frontier outposts. You must find the last survivors of Fleet Command and liberate your sector.

MOTION CONTROLS

Rogue Stargun features the most immersive virtual cockpit ever developed, with virtual hands for interacting with cockpit controls such as the flight stick, targeting system, reactor core, and even swappable weapons.

SINGLE PLAYER CAMPAIGN

With over 24 carefully crafted missions, you will be flying through some of the most varied environments yet seen in a VR-first starfighter sim. Zip through canyons to take down enemy missile batteries, fly under the shields of enemy capital ships to take down their guns, bomb enemy mechanized ground walkers on an icy world, perform a daring raid on a space pirate den -- the variety is endless.

UNIQUE STARFIGHTERS

Do you go with the slow but heavily armored Tornado with its adjustable bombing sight and rear turret or the fast but lightly armored Meteor with its twin flak cannons and secret "rear fuel dump blaster"? There are 5 unique ships in this game, each with their own surprises. Each fighter is additionally equipped with a secondary swappable weapon, with over 50 such unique weapons that can be picked up from powerups, making every single playthrough a unique experience!

iam a huge fan of space games and had to have it, i dont think this game is bad, BUT the systems and the gameplay is clearly ripped and frankensteined into this game, the systems are ripped from starwars squadrons and the missions are ripped from warplanes ww1 fighters, that being said i think both games are better than this one, i dont see what this game does to set itself apart from others, infact there is no character, no ship details, no real customization and everything looks boring without personality really, there arent too many ships on screen which seems like a wasted oppertunity considering the graphics and no physics interaction, no lasers going pew pew, there arent so many lasers it looks like a lightshow either, the good - the first 2 missions feel very grounded - the pick up system encourages gameplay diversity ( although there are like 5 meaningfully diffrent ones) - the factions are a nice touch - i like the fire extinguisher adds visual feedback very nicely, the only uniqu thing but a good one -mission lenght is nice, but pacing slows down fast in missions the bad -AI VOICE ACTING id be refunding just for that -game doesnt let you focus on mission objectiv…

I really feel like the ships could have massively benefited from smaller cockpits or have the option to have the flight stick on the right side instead of in between the legs. Sitting in my office chair I felt like I was way too low to properly see out of the cockpit. There's a lot of unused space around the cockpit. For a first game from this dev it's pretty fun.

Did the first 5 Missions + 2 training missions Pro: - Flight model is fun and shooting satisfying especial with rockets - Ai turns in different directions, breaking formation, turning to all directions - Internal cockpit management such power distribution, switching modules and boosting - Debris flow, space models and environment - Missions are fine so far, takes just a couple of minutes but can stay longer and continue to finish another wave - Controls are good, I only miss sometimes to grab the flight stick properly - So far I have 3x of 5x types of ships unlocked with a bit difference in weaponry and behavior - Graphics is OK, some look parts look detailed while some other parts dont, assuming this will run even good on low end VR. But it would be nice to have some extra textures increase in the settings Cons - Sound, I dont mind the basic voice over, but the space shooting is overlapping and sounds awkward - Ai does nice tricks and turns everywhere, but so far they didnt showed any threat while shooting at me (maybe I have to progress a bit further) - Have a little bug that cant increase graphics, when set to apply nothing happens Overall its not bad, it just needs a bit …

Fun campaign reminded me of Starfox, all the ships are pretty cool. Would be fun to to use all the ships in the game.

Definitely recommended. The presentation is basic, but Rogue Stargun is a fun, polished, and simple arcade dogfighter. It feels just like playing the old Rogue Squadron games but in VR. The cockpits are nicely designed, easy to use, and have some fun VR manipulation (slotting the special weapons cubes and using the horizontal secondary trigger is a great touch).
