Rusts Of Corruption is a strange little adventure game that caught my attention because it is much more focused on characters and atmosphere than traditional gameplay. I wake up on an isolated island on an exoplanet called Charon, with no clear idea of how I got there. The island is inhabited by robots, and as I explore and talk to them, I slowly start learning about the place and what happened to it. There is also something much worse happening in the background, because a corrupting force is spreading across the island and I only have a limited amount of time to understand what is going on. The robot characters are probably my favourite part. Each one has their own personality, backstory and way of looking at what is happening, so talking to them does not just feel like clicking through random dialogue. Some of them seem completely unaware of the situation, while others understand that something terrible is coming. I like that the game is interested in their individual stories and gives me reasons to speak to everyone rather than treating the characters as simple quest markers. The dialogue choices also give me some influence over how I interact with them, which fits the game's …
