Who are Tohoku Kiritan and Zundamon?

Tohoku Kiritan and Zundamon are characters created by a Japanese company, SSS LLC, in 2011—the year of the Great East Japan Earthquake—to support the recovery and revitalization of the Tohoku region.Zundamon, in particular, gained explosive popularity in Japan after a free-to-use synthetic voice was released in 2021, becoming widely known through YouTube voice commentary.Sengoku Voxel Castle is a fan game featuring these characters, but it is designed so that you can fully enjoy it even without prior knowledge of them.If you’re interested in Sengoku-era city-building games, or Japanese-style RTS, we highly recommend giving it a try!

Tohoku Kiritan (Age 11)

The youngest of the three Tohoku sisters.
Her older sisters are Tohoku Zunko (17) and Tohoku Itako (19).She carries the “Kiritan Cannon” on her back, inspired by kiritanpo, long style rice cake.
Her birthday is February 13.In this game, she is caught up in Sengoku-era warfare and becomes separated from her sisters.
Together with Zundamon, she escapes to an uninhabited land, builds a new village, and fights to survive while hoping to reunite with her family.

Zundamon (Human Form)

A humanized form of an edamame fairy.
Age unknown. Birthday: December 5.She loves zunda mochi and can transform into a Zunda Arrow.
In official novels and comics, she often splits into multiple copies—and many Zundamon appear in this game as well.In-game, Zundamon supports logistics in your town and fights alongside Kiritan as a reliable ally.

✦ AI summary

Players praise this cute Japanese-themed RTS base-building game for its engaging wave defense mechanics, voxel terrain customization, and hands-off worker management system that avoids tedious micromanagement. The charming Vocaloid characters and relaxing gameplay appeal to fans of similar games, though some note the main combat music is quite short and the combat system is relatively simple without special effects like elemental attacks or traps.

Quite fun. "Cute" Japanese game themed. Music are good, but the main one during gameplay is very short. RTS -like, basically you have a main building you need to protect and you can build some very basic army to defend it. Melee, range, long range, but no special effect like elemental attack, poison and things like that. There isn't any trap either, and anybody can climb anything (it's slow tho !) so you can't just make a single path with archer on top of it. Well, almost. They don't attack your economy building, only your army-related building but you can mostly leave them outside of the intended paths to avoid spending time repairing them after each fight (repair is automatic btw). During combat you can order your soldier around and try to attack them from behind for extra damage, or just use a bunch of ranged soldier (you might still want some melee to clear walls dropped by the bandits, since it prevent line of sight, protecting them from your ranged soldier). Between combat you try to progress in the tech tree using money, upgrade buildings, make stuff more efficient, and get more food/water/resources for your soldiers. No crash for me, or major bug. Howe…

This unironically satisfies me more than any other real-time-strategy wave defence game. Zundamon and Kiritan just makes it better.

I've only played this game for a little bit, but I think it has a really cool idea. Basically, it's a base (or castle) building game, with RTS sections. You're usually assigning tasks to build buildings, chop down trees, fish, farm, and other stuff. What makes it interesting is that it has voxels, like Minecraft, so you get to reshape the terrain however you want. That, like everything else, is done by assigning workers, rather than you doing it yourself. Occasionally you get attacked by bandits, and need to mobilize your troops. Thankfully (IMO), you don't have to micromanage at all. You don't have to search for an idle worker and say "you, go build this," or something like that. Instead, it's all done with a management screen where you hire workers, then assign the number of workers to each type of job. Workers will automatically take on an available job. So, for example, once you start a new construction project, a construction worker will rush over as soon as it can. Battles, too, don't require much micromanagement. It has a simple UI to form all of your selected troops into a line, circle, or triangle, to match your defensive/offensive needs. Right now, the biggest problem…
