Shape Cascade

Игра "Shape Cascade" - отличная головоломка, требующая внимательности и стратегического мышления. Простой, но затягивающий геймплей, где нужно сбрасывать фигуры так, чтобы они заполняли линии и убирались с поля, не давая ему заполниться. Мне нравится сочетание казуальности и необходимости просчитывать ходы наперед. Визуальное оформление минималистичное, но приятное глазу. Ничего лишнего, что отвлекало бы от основного процесса. Звуковое сопровождение ненавязчивое и хорошо подходит к атмосфере игры. Уровни становятся все сложнее, что поддерживает интерес и не дает заскучать. Иногда приходится порядочно поломать голову, чтобы найти оптимальное решение. Единственное, чего немного не хватает, это каких-нибудь бонусов или особых способностей, которые можно было бы использовать в сложных ситуациях, чтобы разнообразить геймплей. Но в целом, игра отлично подходит для коротких перерывов и тренировки мозга. Рекомендую всем любителям головоломок!

"Shape Cascade" is a very unusual hybrid of Pong, Tetris, and Pachinko. But, as always, just because an idea is somewhat original, doesn't mean it's a good idea, or that it translates to a state of the art PC gaming experience. This looks like a Flash game or something. Anyway the idea is that you have a Pong like paddle but instead of bouncing the ball around, a lot of little objects fall down and you need to try divert them into the corresponding buckets. Fun. If you never saw any other video games before, anyway. This game features very lacklustre minimalist "art" for graphics instead of anything remotely contemporary. I'm sure the "developer" thought this would come across as "artistic", but it doesn't, it comes across as "really lazy". Yes, contemporary 3D graphics take a lot of time and effort to create. That doesn't mean it's okay not to bother! Developers must try to understand that gaming is a visual medium, and gamers spend a lot of money on high end gaming rigs for a reason. The idea is great, but the controls are way too slow and clunky. Supposedly you should be able to change the pad you're hitting the blocks, but I didn't find how you could do that, nor had I any interest left after I noticed how bad the controls were. Achievements are far too easy and there is only 11 of them.

Remember those games you would find on a site like Newgrounds which make you think "why didn't someone make this sooner?" Shape Cascade is one of those games. It starts of deceptively simple and then slowly adds in more and more complications as you play through the levels. Has some great ideas to mixup the formula as you play though. Very cool game. I think the only two suggestions I would make is that the 'paddle' picks up momentum that feels physics based which can sometimes be a bit tricky to control. However releasing the keys brings it to a complete stop, so that might just be part of the design. I also wouldn't mind a level select - starting from the first level each time is a little rough. Minor nitpicks though!

I tried this game, without expectations but I must admit that it is very addictive! I highly reccomend it! The concept is very simple and yet very enjoying!
