I didn't quite plan on writing this review; but I wanted to add a little grain of salt to the varied rating this game has, as I've enjoyed it a good bit. For context, this isn't my first approach with the Frogwares Holmes' games. As of writing this, I've played through Crimes and Punishments, Devil's Daughter, Nemesis, Mystery of the Mummy (not thanks to the absolutely horrendous PC port) and Jack the Ripper, believing the latter to be the peak of the series. I've also read all classic Doyle stories about the detective pair; so I know what I'm talking about. This game is... tedious. Especially at the start there are a good deal of details you can very easily miss due to them being blended into the backgrounds, the controls are orthopedic at best (who the ♥♥♥♥ thought was a good idea to do timed puzzles in such a game??? And there's two of them???), and the story can get feel very convoluted, making one get lost easily. Ah, but I did say I enjoyed it, didn't I? With all my frustrations about it, I found it quite fun. Investigating around, making theories on my own... the game itself does have positive things, too. Sherlock and Watson feel just like this script was wrote by Doyle …

Another horrible Sherlock game from the Sherlock collection. Every action is agonizingly slow, it's slower than some DOS games. Skip.

There was a glitch in my version where you could not see the guard dog at Bromsby Cementworks so you couldn't get past that scene.

This game does a lot of things that are very cool and good for its time! This version of Sherlock is pretty good, Watson looks like he doesn't have a thought behind his eyes, and has his silly moments but also gets some time to shine during this game. I'm a fan of point and click and puzzle/mystery games of this era, so there is a certain charm in it for me personally. However, I will say that this game is TEDIOUS. You have to click in very specific spots to move from screen to screen, which can be frustrating during the timed puzzles. Luckily there are only two, but they will irritate the hell out of you a couple times. But you get used to the movement the more you play. Also the quizzes after each segment require you to REALLY pay attention to the evidence you receive, which make it difficult if you take a break from playing (like I did...). You also have to pay very close attention to the items you need to pick up, and there is an opportunity to get soft locked so beware of that. The story has a lot going on, and like I said, it can be hard to figure out if you're not paying super close attention to your evidence and clues. I would give this one a go for the novelty of it being …
