About Shiitake Showdown
A parasitical race of Myconids has recently surfaced within the world, infecting and wiping out many civilisations. They desire to assimilate everything within their Mycelium network and create a dark world, shrouded in the shadow of their fungi so that they can live on the surface without fear of the light. However, their next target, a collection of cold-blooded Serpents are devout worshippers of the Sun and refuse to let this happen and will do everything in their power to prevent this threat from winning.
Unique weapons
Battle it out with your friends or foes using a variety of different weapons that each excel in their own scenario. Change from using a shotgun at close range to a sniper from afar to make the most of each weapons strong point.
Elemental utility
Utilise your power over the elements with 4 to chose from. Wield 2 of these elements at the same time to adapt depending on the situation. Each element suits a different playstyle so try them all and see what suits you best.
Diferent maps and game modes
With 4 different maps and 4 gamemodes to play on each of them play them all and find what combination is your favorite!
Customization
Change your caracter skin and color to suit your style. With loads of combinations to choose from there is something to suit everyone!

"Shiitake Showdown" is a dead PvP shooter with no players, because, well, the graphics are middling and there's a million better free FPS games you could be playing with much better graphics. Seen how popular Counter-Strike 2 is? You know how much [i]better[/i] a game has to be to compete with games like that? Yeah... developers often fall into the trap of thinking that PvP is an acceptable substitute for content, but it isn't. The vast majority of PvP games fail. I'm talking 90% plus. They don't go viral, they die. And with no single player content, there's no legacy for the game to keep players interested. This is a classic, textbook case where we can see the results of that kind of flawed game design. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming idustry, and should be applauded. This game is a diamond in the rough. It is extremely fun to play (especially with friends), and with consistent updates and proper marketing, I have no doubt this game could be huge. Unfortunately, I think the game has been abandoned by the developers. RIP
Probably the best game on Steam, hands down.
