Shining Plume is a traditional fantasy role-playing game developed by Warfare Studios and published by Aldorlea Games that embraces the spirit of classic JRPG adventures while delivering a heartfelt story centered on courage, friendship, loss, and personal growth. Built around turn-based combat, world exploration, and character-focused storytelling, the game offers a nostalgic experience that prioritizes narrative and adventure over modern spectacle. While its presentation follows a retro-inspired design philosophy, its greatest strength lies in the emotional journey shared by its memorable cast of characters. The story follows Jun, a skilled samurai whose peaceful life is abruptly shattered by tragedy. What begins as a deeply personal tale of grief and survival gradually evolves into a larger fantasy adventure involving ancient mysteries, powerful enemies, and threats capable of changing the fate of the world. Jun's journey is not simply one of heroism but also one of self-discovery. As he travels across dangerous lands and encounters new companions, he is forced to confront painful memories and difficult truths that challenge both his beliefs and his understanding of himself. U…

RPG Maker strikes again!

Shining Plume is one of hundreds of low effort retro-pixel RPG Maker asset/construction kit flips spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker video game construction kit... in their own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child." Like all RPG Maker "games", this is essentially a bunch of low quality/canned assets from RPG Maker coupled with a cringeworthy high school anime club fan fiction.

The "plot" for this RPG Maker asset flip is a painfully generic samurai hero story, congealed with endless rambling, error filled dialogue that makes paint drying seem breathtaking and thrilling. Once more Andorlea (through one of their sockpuppet Steam accounts) has truly made gaming worse with this endless copy + paste RPG Maker shovelware.

As with all RPG Maker games, the poor quality engine displays badly in fullscreen and doesn't have full HD support or any graphics tweaking options, making this unacceptable for any dedicated modern PC gamer. The point can be made that the intention of RPG Maker is to make demos and small games to pass around friends, and shouldn't be used for "professiona…

This is a beautiful rpg. The characters are pretty, and funny. The gameplay is smooth with no bugs or freezes. I love all the Japanese reference. I recommend playing this series.

I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing. Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side. With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of y…

This game is super broken. There's a glitch where your character always moves right. You cannot stand still. You can cancel it out by moving left but the second you stop pressing down another directional button you're moving right. Considering the first direction you are supposed to move in the game is to the left, this becomes apparent right away. This is super annoying and makes the game nearly unplayable. I gave up after five minutes. I spent a lot more time than that online looking for a solution, but all I found was that a lot of other people had the same problem. Some had managed to fix it, but none of the fixes worked for me. It is a shame, because the aesthetic and story actually looked kind of neat. But until such time as they fix the basic movement controls, I cannot in good conscience recommend this game.
