It was good because the game was given a story and a concept suitable for the mansion. its story follows part 1 and too scary on the second floor for me (BGM was awesome)3 found this helpful

It's a game full of fear and puzzles. There's nothing to do these days, so I played it because it looked the best among indie games. I could see that they were more careful than other indie games, and I could easily solve puzzles for those who were not good at playing. Of course, it seems to be slightly lower than the famous conglomerates, but this price is enough to enjoy.2 found this helpful
I got this and the first game on sale. For the few euros I paid I thought it was worth it. Graphics were decent and plenty of combat with a few jump scares. I did finnish the game with no regrets
I liked the first one... just. The puzzles were the weakest part. (and the jank). I was dissapointed to see that we still vibrate on obstacles. Still lose objects in the scenery. Still move in a fast and completely unnatural way. My experience with this one: Got stuck on the garden for ages, found out the reason was that an essential object had gotten lost in a statue. Fine. second try. Got stuck on the downstairs. can't find a way through the barrier, and I don't trust that the reason isn't jank. Puzzle games have to be perfectly reliable. The game engine is good looking, but not reliable.
Perhaps if I had played it before HL Alyx, etc., It might have been interesting. It's boring, and has a very limited interaction with the objects. The teleport is for a fixed small distance, enemy's spawn out of thin air, no physics on combat, etc.
