Good grief. It's no wonder Half-Life showed SiN where its asshоle is. I really wanted to enjoy SiN, but there's so much going against it that I think the title of the game might have been a bit too accurate. I started off enjoying it, but now I'm nearing the end of the game, I'm finding it harder and harder to suspend my vitriol. I'll start off light: in 2026, the resolution settings are still borked in such a way that the menu doesn't scale properly at all. The actual game does, thankfully, but... Man. I would rather not have to hex edit the executable for a game I bought in the current decade so that I can read the menu without a scanning electron microscope. Another thing is that, at least on my end, I experienced a degree of input delay that made it feel like I'd joined a Russian lobby, which only compounded the frustration I'd later experience. The level design. Okay. I love the art direction, and I really admire what they were going for stylistically. But as someone who generally looks at overt signposting with a degree of disgust, I have to say that this game changed my perspective. Where you're supposed to go at a given time is made about as clear as a lead panel. Perhap…

Insanely underrated. Shame it got overshadowed by Half-Life

The only positive, I have to say for this game is that some of the OST, especially the one from raiding the laboratory, is fairly kickass; however, everything else is just dated gameplay with some confusing level design, a generic looking artstyle, a lame villain who is barely present throughout the game, and the return of legendary sniper jackals.

Really fun and charming game with cool environments, funny and memorable characters, and great visual style. The only thing is that it takes a little bit of work to get it working normally with a reasonable UI and menu size. Below I have written a small guide on how to do it: I would recommend installing the "Dominatrix" mod, which lets you play in normal resolutions / UI scale with a normal (ish) sized menu, adjust the FOV and max framerate, and it also gives you a weapon switch wheel which makes the game feel a lot smoother to play. Go to this website: https://rohit.itch.io/dominatrix Then scroll down to the downloads section and download the version for your computer's operating system (for windows its the "mingw" one, the second to last option). Then open the .zip file and drag all the mod files into the game directory. From now on, run the game through the dominatrix.exe instead of the normal exe - You can set the exe to be what steam launches by going into the "general" tab of the game's steam properties (access this by right-clicking the game in your steam library and clicking properties), then in the launch options field, type the file path in quotation marks, for example …
