Skeletal Dance Party is a delightfully offbeat indie adventure developed by Catalope Games in collaboration with No Studio in Particular and published by Catalope Games. It’s a small but memorable game that turns the macabre into something charming, casting you as Reva, a cheerful young necromancer determined to throw the best party ever—complete with skeleton guests, dancing, and a fair bit of magical chaos. Released in 2018, the game manages to fuse dungeon crawling, physics-based combat, and party management into an experience that feels both playful and chaotic, wrapped in a bright voxel art style that constantly undercuts its darker themes with humor and charm. At its core, Skeletal Dance Party is a physics-driven action-adventure where almost everything can be picked up, tossed, or turned into part of your party. Reva’s powers are rooted in telekinesis and necromancy, allowing her to raise defeated enemies as loyal skeleton followers. You start small, commanding just one or two skeletons, but as you defeat more foes, you can quickly turn a quiet crypt into a wild, skeletal celebration. Every object in the environment has weight and momentum, and that makes the gameplay feel …

This game made me very happy, despite how bad the game truly is I put myself through the bad UI and stuff, the game does get a bit harder later on and you need to to use telekinesis to move enemies too at some point instead of throwing whatever, you got on you, I just happenned to look through gamejolt 2 days ago and saw this game and remembered a 10 year old vid of jacksepticeye playing a demo of this game and it brings back memories.

I want to like this game but there are too many bugs stopping me from enjoying it. The game is about raising skeletons and using them to fight humans and collect equipment, however your skeletons frequently clip into furniture, walls or in my case fall through the floor entirely. At the start you can only have 3 skeletons and when they clip through the floor or vanish they don't die. So I am left with maybe one skeleton and I cannot raise any more because technically the others are still alive. Saying that, when one did die I wasn't allowed to raise another one from the dead. I raise the same skeleton back which didn't make sense to me. You also have a telekinesis power allowing you to move furniture and objects which is needed if you wish to progress. However this ability just completely stops working after awhile. The animation still triggers fine but you can no longer grab, pull or move anything. Rendering you useless. On top of this the story began to grate after awhile. I don't know if it was the voices or the long cinematic sequences but I lost interest. It may had been the frequent bugs that spoiled it more. One thing you will definitely want to do when you play the game i…

Wanna fight with bouncy bone boys with peppy music and a silly story? Then this game has it covered, with a bonus adorable fox girl witch. It does have a few rough spots, such as your followers getting caught on things, or their brains shorting out, so they just stand there to stare at a wall. But each level is short enough for me to ignore it most of the time.

Path finding and the physics are the two reasons I can't recommend it. The story itself is decent enough, and I genuinely wanted to hear the outlandish dialogue between the characters. Unfortunately, the skeletons and the main character will often get stuck. The telekinesis spell doesn't consistently work and I have died twice due to being stuck in terrain as the enemy attacked me. Not worth the frustration. 3.5/10 (5 being average)
