The Story

The Queen’s evergrowing talking sword is lost in a faraway land. Luckily, you showed up to wield it back to the castle.
You do know how to swing a sword, right? RIGHT?!

Slash Quest puts you in the shoes of Shepherd, an unlikely knight with a big heart, wielding an even bigger weapon — Swordie! — and absolutely zero skills. Together, they must journey through exotic lands, battling nasty creatures, solving puzzles, and making lovely friends along the way to reunite Swordie (the royal talking sword) with its rightful owner, the Queen.

This game was played in its entirety on an Apple MacBook M1 Air. I obtained all achievements with no issue. There were no bugs or crashes, beyond the game's own shortcomings. This isn't a terrible game. But it isn't a good one, either. Slash Quest has a ton of charm and good humor. It has a nice gimmick that will hook you into the game quickly. But, beyond that, there is almost nothing left of value. The enemies you see in the first world, are the same enemies you will encounter in every other world, every challenge, every side quest, and the delivery quest. The mechanics you see in the first world will follow the same pattern. Each world does add a unique wrinkle, and they do change up your tactics and how you solve puzzles, but the differences are minor at best. Each world does have a very unique boss and they are fairly interesting to fight against. I would say that almost the entire game, including almost all of the challenges, all of the side quests, as well as the delivery quest, is WAY TOO EASY. I'm talking 1 out of 10 on the difficulty scale. Thankfully, the final world has a few puzzles that made me think at least. But, those only come right at the end. Most of the g…

The trailer and store page describe quite accurately what Slash quest is : A small, colorful adventure game coupled with some (light) clumsiness simulator. Don't expect to spend hundred of hours on it, it really isn't long. Don't take it for mind-globuling twists, the story isn't complex at all. Don't prepare tissues in the event you cry or you roll laughing on the floor, it doesn't try to invest you a lot emotionally in its characters. And that's a good thing! It is a nice short treat between those very deep or emotionally heavy games, one that knows how to not overstay its welcome. It's one that fits easily into one's busy schedule. It's simple and easy enough you only need a minute or two to get back into the game, should you leave it for two weeks. That's where it shines. It's simplicity also makes it very adapted to kids, I'd wager around ~6 to 9 years old ones. Again, it is not mind-bending, but it does the simple things right and it will respect your children's time. And that's what matters!

An absolutely excellent and incredibly fun game! I want to give a special thanks to the development team for including Arabic localization; it is a step we highly appreciate and it makes the experience so much better for the Arab gaming community. On top of that, the price is fantastic and very fair for the amount of great content the game provides. Highly recommended

Slash Quest is a delightful action-adventure developed by Big Green Pillow and Mother Gaia Studio, and published by Noodlecake. At first glance, it appears to be a lighthearted fantasy quest, but its defining feature quickly sets it apart from conventional games in the genre. Instead of wielding a standard weapon, players control an enchanted sword that continually grows larger as enemies are defeated, turning every battle and exploration segment into an exercise in adapting to constantly changing mechanics. This inventive premise gives the adventure a unique personality from beginning to end while delivering an experience that is both accessible and surprisingly engaging. The story follows an ordinary hero who stumbles upon the Queen's legendary talking sword after it has become separated from its rightful owner. Together, the unlikely duo embarks on a journey to restore order while meeting an assortment of colorful allies and eccentric foes. Rather than relying on dramatic storytelling or complex lore, the narrative embraces humor, optimism, and charming character interactions. The conversations between the protagonist and the sentient sword provide plenty of entertaining moment…
