SlingStar

"SlingStar" is, well, "I can't believe it's not a mobile app". This tech demo is a basic mobile app tier physics/action game where you fling an asteroid at planets and other celestial objects so it slingshots around them. The objective is to fling the asteroid thingy (a pixel blob is a pixel blob) to hit the green targets and not get smashed on the way. This features really godawful, lazy pixelcrap "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks bad because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. Games like Terraria and Stardew Valley succeeded [i]despite[/i] the bad graphics, not because of them. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. …

A simple but good concept with a decent execution. It was pretty cool that you could skip over the checkpoints if you made a good enough shot, or with a perfect shot, you could skip the whole level. Kind of wish it was a lengthier game, but it is what it is. Also, adding the planetarium to explain the process was a nice touch. I also glitched out of there, speedy times.

its actually really tricky but i like the idea this game could be bigger with much more level
