✦ AI summary

Players appreciate the game's cute aesthetic and reasonable structure with its hint system for relaxing gameplay sessions. However, many criticize the inconsistent quality of cat designs, with some being poorly defined or barely recognizable as cats at all, making the search feel tedious and frustrating rather than enjoyable—a problem compounded by repetitive music.
A relaxing search until the last cats are either behind interactive elements or have a flexible definition of a feline
Five levels, roughly 100 cats per level, and about 1h to track them all down. On paper, that sounds like a pleasant little hide-and-seek session, especially for the price. After my rough time with Halloween Filled With Cats, I hoped this next title from Short of Genius would turn things around. Sadly, the extra content comes with a few frustrations that kept pulling me out of it. There is a decent structure here. The game offers good, quick gameplay sessions and a rechargeable hint system that highlights a small area instead of pointing directly at the answer. It’s also nice that hints don’t seem to block achievements, nor do the misclicks. A few simple QoL options are included too: fullscreen, sound sliders, and the ability to jump between levels freely. Nothing is locked, so if one scene annoys you, you can simply move on. The trouble starts once the search gets serious near the end. There’s no save system, which feels odd even for a short game. S…

I've probably played every Hidden Cats game available on Steam. There were a few highlights that I replayed multiple times. Most were mediocre. Unfortunately, there were also some bad games. Well, this game here (I've requested a refund) is one of the bad ones in my opinion. Not only is the music a short, repetitive piece, but the real problem are the cats. I only played through the first level, but even there, there are tons of these "cats" that could be anything but cats. A little pile of pixels that bears absolutely no resemblance to a cat simply isn't a cat! And it's no fun clicking around aimlessly in the hopes of finding something. Even at this price, I absolutely cannot recommend it.
