Sons of Valhalla

I installed this games because it reminds me of two crowns. Although the runes are a fun and creative idea (power-ups) the rest of the gameplay is boring, repetitive and the units on your ¨army" don't work properly, they don't follow commands for example.

TL;DR: Do not buy the game! You are getting scammed! This is the worst game I have ever bought and during the first five minutes I knew I’m going to refund it. I don’t think I have ever refunded the game. From the first seconds you open the game you feel it’s unfinished. It looks OK but you get this eerie feeling that there’s something wrong with it. It does not look inherently bad but it looks simply.. cheap. Unpolished. More than it looks unfinished it feels unfinished. The tutorial already made me decide on the refund. If you need to explain mechanics of such a simple game through most boring tutorial I have ever countered it cannot be a good game. The player should’ve been given opportunity to learn the game without holding hands. I won’t even go into the mechanics because just the feeling of the game was simply so bad from the beginning that they are not worth covering. Even after the tutorial you have no idea how the game works because the controls are so unintuitive. I tried the main game mode first. I have waited for two years to buy this from sale and paid 5€ for it which is way too much. The price tag of 20€ is ridiculous for such unfinished game that will never be …

I only say yes because it seems like they are still making active updates and hotfixes. The game itself has a lot of potential. It integrates base building and rouge-like scaling which is a new concept for me. But the enemy NPCs bug out really easily which sometimes trivializes fights. The game also crashes fairly frequently. I played through the main campaign and despite the bugs and crashing, I was still compelled enough to play it to the end, so it is fun.... But the other campaign crashed immediately and I had been fed up at that point. The gameplay itself suffers from highly repetitive fight styles and base building. Nothing much changes, the real interest comes from the boss fights. Unfortunately the 2nd boss fight is the hardest due to annoying mechanics, the last boss fight was an actual joke. The story wasn't really compelling and the voice acting was noticeably not good. Some permanent upgrades to structures would go a long way. But base building was from the ground up each time and felt tiring.

After playing HOURS of KIngdom series, I liked how this looked, nice style. I read reviews and thought "it wouldnt be the first "Mixed" game i like. But ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is this a boring gameplay loop. I will refund even tho it was just 5eu..

Do want to play Kingdom, but wanted more mechanics and control over individual units plus get into the fight yourself? Well have I got a game for you. There are a lot of upgrade paths to go down in the campaign (there are 3 modes) and a lot of different runes to suit different playstyles. Personally, the charge arrow was kind of where things got a lot easier. Boost your health, damage, and all of your secondary gear. There are lot of rewards, so if you're lucky and get a treasure boosting one early on, you might be able to afford all of the different buffs. Which helps out a LOT in the final bosses. Story gets a little out there at the end, but it does kind of make sense that Odin would give you the job to begin with. Then you get hit with a 'to be continued'. Which is not a great start for thing kind of game. If they already have the funding for it and it's in development, great. The escape mode I played all of 5 minutes of. You play as the wife who is....escaping. I had no interest in it. I was there for the Kingdom-like mode. Then there's the endless mode which features what looks like one of the villains of the campaign. Personally not into it. Don't even know what …
