[b]space drone: rescue mission[/b] is a minimalist resource management / sokoban / sliding puzzler with the setting and primary goal subtly hinted at in the title. the story is very optimistic, suggesting mankind can wait until 3177 to find a new place to live. either way, most of the crew in charge of locating earth 2.0 crash-lands and it's up to the one guy left behind to rescue them with a drone. though the store page doesn't mention turn-based anywhere, in fact, the useless and usually incorrect tags say 'real time tactics' and 'rts' among other things, the game actually [b]works in a turn-based fashion[/b]. except when it requires timing and quick action and there's a [b]30-minute timer kicking in near the end[/b]. turn-based games are turn-based for a reason, so I find any kind of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like this unacceptable, and that's on top of [b]not having undo[/b]. [b]63 levels[/b], each comprised of a single-screen grid. [b]progression is linearish[/b], as in levels are mostly unlocked one by one and you're mostly following a single path, but might have to circle back to a screen later from another direction. there are hidden areas as well, found by locating similarly hidden wormh…

This is actually a good little puzzle adventure. Rooms can get quite difficult as you proceed further into the game. Also its cheap and entirely worth the modest price being asked.

Space Drone has a cool premise and potential, but it falls short on many QoL features that would make it more bearable. [b]It’s a Sokoban game[/b], which means you’ll need to follow specific routes to go through a level, usually pushing boulders on the way. [b]This game sets itself apart by having a 10-movement limit, after which you have to be in a station to recharge your movements[/b] - or reset the map in case you can’t. I enjoy Sokoban games, but I hate that this puts [b]too much focus on the sliding mechanic[/b]. There are ice tiles that make you slide all the way to the end, and most of the early to mid-game is juggling your movements with sliding. I don’t mind sliding in puzzle games - when done sparingly - but this being a space game, I thought sliding wouldn’t be too prevalent, though it is present on almost every map. [b]I also don’t like how this game implements the movement limit[/b]. You have to constantly come back to the same station, and that sometimes feels more like busy work than part of a grand puzzle.
