TL;DR review: This isn't a game. It's a comic book. It's a short visual novel, with an upgrade shop. The gameplay is nonexistent, it's 99% idle. It's super short. The graphics are trash. The music sucks, and is usually BROKEN too. NG+ really isn't worth it. Single resolution only and the window size keeps breaking. Some of the levelup bonuses are bugged and don't work. Story is cute though. But really, don't waste your time or money on this one. Full Review: The humor DOESN'T LAND at all because it is ALL just inside jokes that only the development team will understand. The gameplay is 99% idle. But no offline progress. So just leave it running in the background for 8 hours, then upgrade all your ship's weapons (which takes you 5 minutes) then let it run for another 6 hours, one more round of upgrades, then you win. First playthrough will probably take you 15 - 20 hours, new game plus will take about half that long. NG+ is the exact same as the regular game, but you earn XP much faster so you can buy your gun upgrades faster and beat the game FASTER. Speed-running is the only bonus to NG+. The graphics are 16-bit "retro" style, like from the…1 found this helpful
I actually really loved this game and still think about it after a year or so. The best part is definitely the story, I could empathize with a lot of the points and it nearly brought me to tears. Thank you Sky Hour Works for this experience! ♡
Cute story but there either needs to be more to do, a lot more story, or much shorter. There are simply too many stretches where nothing is happening and you're saving up for stat boosts, and there's really nothing to the gameplay. New game plus also adds nothing and yet 3 or more runs are needed for an achievement? Waste of time.
as fascinating as it is to stare at a ship destroy other ships that aren't even attacking it, I didn't want to spend 30 hours doing so.
I like it.
An idle-RPG clicker where you blast space ships, gain XP, get bigger numbers, and repeat. The pixel art is charming, and the gameplay loop is perfect for keeping on a second monitor while doing other things. I finished the story on my ThinkPad, and the game ran on Linux. No hiccups, no compatibility issues. Would I play it again for all the achievements? Nah. But for a few hours of mindless fun? Absolutely worth the download.
