You’ll have to deal with robots in order to get anwhere, doing various fetch quests, and finding items, solving puzzles, and other things in order to move forward and progress onwards with the story. Every so often you’ll recover a bit of information you add to this special piece of equipment you can attach your link thing you have down in your interface to, and it’ll give a few lines about the backstory before the point you are in the game. Most of the focus is finding this particular player in the backstory. Hard to explain, but the game itself is fairly fun. The puzzles are difficult, so I skipped a bunch of them, completing maybe sixty percent of all of them after just simply not having the patience to really work through some, and others sim…

TL;DR : Fun little story with a great steampunk-y art style. English translation is pretty good, only occasional weirdness. So this review is based off my first couple of hours of gameplay, if anything significant happens to change it, I'll edit the review accordingly. Steel Life is a great example of a point and click game done right. It's not perfect or groundbreaking but it checks off all the boxes of what a good point and click should be. The story is engaging and there are lots of unique characters to interact with. Plenty of puzzles and minigames to test your thinking and reflexes; nothing too difficult outside of a couple minigames that weren't explained clearly. The game has a handhold-y casual mode that points out interactibles and gives you as many hints as you want. Great for someone who just wants to play through it for the story. There is also a hardcore mode for those who don't want the help. The art style is what really sold me though. It's like a steampunk-y version of the "Robots" movie. Not even going to waste my time trying to finish this. Some people might like it but it's not for me. Aside from the nice artwork there is often no logic to what you are doing and the mini games are frustrating for the most part. It's also very slow. I got bored. I'm done.
