About Stronghold’s Dungeon

Stronghold's Dungeon is a game that combines many styles to create its own. Every turn, you will get to generate a board from a deck of cards that you've carefully picked throughout your journey within this dungeon.

A lot of enemies

The dungeon master has many minions under his commands. He will make fun of your weaknesses while letting you believe in a potential victory against him. But it will not happen that way. Slimes, Sandworms, undead, Rioting mob ? Each enemy has their own strengths and weaknesses, it's up to you to decide what strategy to adopt against them to allow you to capitalize on quick exterminations.

Various weapons

Rather brutal warrior or sneaky assassin ? It's up to you to judge which will be your best choice for your current game. Each defeated enemy will grant you a relic allowing you to improve your card’s effects as well as obtain many passive effects. It’s also up to you to manage your golds which will allow you to buy these said objects, from the most deadly venom to the sharpest halberd, everything has a price.

The law of chance

If you believe in your lucky star, engage this dungeon without fear. If you don't believe it... Prove to the world, or at least to the master of the dungeon, that randomness does not exist and that only your skills will be able to overcome all its traps. The Rogue-lite side of this opus will allow you to improve after each of your games, whether you win or lose, smoothing your progress and allowing you to constantly access new content.

An important aesthetic

As you noticed, Stronghold's Dungeon is a pixel art game that’s inspired by the greatest of the genre to give you a visual appearance of the softest and most pleasing to the eye. If that speaks to you, you'll be constantly pushed to discover the new enemy sprites, relics, and other surprises the game throws at you as you progress in the game.

bought this game cause it was fairly cheep and wanted to test it out, thought to myself "man with a lot of refinement this game could be really good" the look a see the dev seems to have stopped updating the game and moved on, leaving this game as more of a proof of concept

Game has very little content, and hasn't been updated it over two years. Don't waste your money.
Roguelite deckbuilder and dungeon crawler that isn't trying to be Slay the Spire?
Unless that statement excites you, definitely not worth $7.99. More tech demo than game, but what's there is FUN. Can't tell whether it's properly or poorly balanced, but it was satisfying to see a build (serial killer + zombie spawn + Tesla coil) through to a win. With so little content, meta progression ends up feeling like an afterthought. So much potential.

Really enjoyed the vary of builds possible. Wish there was more to the monsters but the curses add a bit of extra content that can either be extremely challenging or hardly noticeable. Definitely worth the price.

[edit] Okay, peeked at the forums, and this game hasn't gotten an update and the devs released another game in the meantime. Looks like this game's dead in early access - changing my thumbs up to thumbs down. A fun little romp if you can get it for a few bucks, but what you see is what you get. _______ I got it for four bucks. For four bucks, it's... all right. I got 2.6 hours as of right now, and just unlocked everything. It's one of those roulette RPG game things where you pick stuff every round and try for synergies. There's only... a few real synergies. Not a lot of cross-pollination with said synergies, with a few cases where if you don't RNG into an artifact, you've boned yourself (looking at you, zombies). After you beat the game, you can equip a "curse". There's like five of them, three shown at the start of a run. Pick one, it bones you, but you get a cheevo if you win with it. And there's two characters. The second one has the weirder mechanics, you know, like you would expect. I'm gonna say "yes" to recommending it, because honestly the idea's pretty fun and the animations are enjoyable. It's early access, so please, pleeeeease, add more stuff to this thing.

Not the most complex game but very enjoyable.
