Swarm Grinder offers a refreshing spin on the increasingly popular survivors-style roguelite genre by combining relentless combat with exploration, resource gathering, and environmental strategy. Instead of focusing entirely on surviving endless enemy waves, the game challenges players to venture across procedurally generated mining zones infested with dangerous alien organisms while searching for valuable Bioshards. Every expedition feels like a calculated risk, as pushing deeper into unexplored territory rewards players with resources and upgrades but also exposes them to increasingly aggressive alien swarms. This constant balance between exploration and survival gives the game a stronger sense of purpose than many of its genre counterparts, creating an experience that feels both familiar and surprisingly original. One of the game's defining mechanics is its evolving battlefield. Alien cells gradually spread throughout the map, transforming safe areas into dangerous territory until they are disturbed, triggering massive attacks from hostile creatures. This system ensures that players cannot remain stationary for long, encouraging continuous movement and thoughtful decision-makin…

Game looked cool. Thought i would have fun and,,,, i did, Incredible game. This game is good unlike his next one, Skills are fun and every new dificulty adds more skills and enemies. Satisfying perma upgrades. There are even achievements that aren't ridiculously hard to get. Some are tied to progression. Kill enemies using certain skills to rank up (and get an achievement) Music isn't that bad. It's decent. Game definitely has at least a few hours of gameplay content. My opinion may or may not change after i play on harder difficulties and start screaming.

Games like "Swarm Grinder" make me wish that Steam games could be graded on a scale instead of a thumbs up/thumbs down system. Yes, I like the game. I have 100-percented its achievements. Yes, I gave it a thumbs up, but this is a very hesitant recommendation. It does some incredibly unique things that I haven't seen yet in other action roguelikes, but it has one really, really big problem: namely, the stuttering. When everything slows down to a crawl and then FREEZES during some pretty mild firefights, I just throw my hands up and exit out of the game completely. I would have demanded a refund for any other game that froze as often as "Swarm Grinder." But it is a helluva fun game -- when it works. I kept coming back to it until I got all the Steam trophies. The solo indie dev who made this is clearly talented when it comes to game design, but for the love of God, please do something about the stuttering.

Bad: - Constant fuel drain when shooting. Imagine playing Vampire Survivors and you run out of ammo. - Collecting upgrades INCREASES your fuel drain. So while you want to collect upgrades, you really shouldn't, because they make the game harder. Also some upgrades really feel useless. - I don't understand the upgrade system. Picking up the same weapon as before sometimes increases its level, sometimes you get random other upgrades - which I most often don't want. - No objectives given. What should I do? It seems you have to free all the drills to progress. - You get swarmed the more the game progresses. Even while fighting the boss, more additional waves spawn. - Not optimized: As more creatures spawn, the framerate begins to drop. - Meta upgrades feel like they are necessary to progress in the game. On the other hand, there are few of them. - Little content: Only three robots to choose from? And like three levels? Good: - Good music - Graphical detail / style is good Overall, it feels like an early access title which needs work. Obviously, the game is long past that phase. Not recommended.
