The game has potential but the level ups and power comes too slow. It becomes tedious and repetitive to play as a result. Please look at other survivor games like Vampire Survivors, Death Must Die, and time the rate of level ups particularly in the first 10 minutes of play. It's way faster and more fun as a result than this, so I suggest adjusting XP and levelling rates accordingly. Also a lot of the weapons need to be looked at. They are very underpowered and the level ups are not very impactful, which is possibly contributing to the slow level ups. *Update* I have tried Hard and Cursed mode. I feel the tuning on levelling speed on Hard is actually closer to the experience I want, but it's tedious to play through because I feel like the entry point to Hard mode is nearly maxing out upgrades (which I've done, and takes significant amount of hours to do), and there are too many weapons in the pool that feel like liabilities rather than fun and powerful, before being able to upgrade to ultimates. I stopping playing after 18 hours, most of the play time was just okay but leaning on the side of not enjoyable, just a grind to see if I was misunderstanding something and on the verge…4 found this helpful
Awesome game, if you like these types of games. Got a bit far into the game, still plenty to unlock. So enjoying the experience. Plenty of upgrades and heroes to unlock as well. Overall, would recomend. and the dev is super helpful as well, which is always a plus.2 found this helpful
This is a great game, so many retro memories invoked in this title. Thank you for it's creation !1 found this helpful
TLDR: Starts out fun but ultimately is frustrating. I have played a lot of roguelite games very similar in nature to this game, check out my profile. Having to gamble to unlock characters in a game that I already paid for is a bad choice but that is a subjective opinion, but overall it's not a bad game and for the price its great. I do reccomend this game but it has its problems well for me at least. Full review below. Ill start out with the usual pros and cons. Then give you my overall conclusion. Pros: Easy to learn. Fun to progress early. Well designed skills and buffs. (mostly more below). A goodish meta progress system. (it has its problems though more below). Simple pixle graphics that are perfect for this type of game. (It really looks good for what it is). Music is good if you like that sort of thing. Cons: Ultimately frustrating to play. (Just not fun) Way to much RNG base to be fun (explained in more detail below). Does not respect your time (grindy for not much return explained in more detail below). Fails to deliver. This game promises a variety of ways to play, different skills, characters and bonuses but then forces you to play a certain way or you just…
Cool in every way (chars/unlocks/ups/maps), final boss fights are imba, though. 9-/10.
One of the more interesting of the Bullet Heaven games. It's very much a retro-arcade inspired games in terms of many of the power ups and levels. The art style is fun and flashy and almost looks like an old vector graphics game. The unlock system seems fair and balanced, and there are plenty of things to unlock. The characters and weapons are interesting to play. The hit detection can be kind of odd at times, but it's still well worth playing and isn't frustrating. It's a fantastic game to zone out and just play.
