Accel World VS. Sword Art Online Deluxe Edition

Definitely one of the best SAO games out there, easily top 3 imo. Lacks a tiny bit of polish in terms of camera lock-on and combat, but is overall pretty smooth on that front. Story is hands down the best out of all the SAO games, and it's not even close. Going in, I had no clue what Accel World was, and if you're unfamiliar with it either (or unfamiliar with SAO for that matter), this game does a good job at explaining both. Thank you, "Say It, Miss Strea!" from the gallery. Apparently they're the same universe (not canon to either anime or any other game fsr), but if you're a fan of one franchise, you'll definitely like the other. I don't want to say that it's the same formula written by the same person, but it kinda is. There are literally like 40 characters or something (once you unlock them all). Literally no shortage of variety. Each SAO character can use 3 different classes of weapons, so put Sinon on a spear if you're really feeling you want more base damage. Though the bow and it's range can definitely keep you alive sometimes. AW characters are a bit less fleshed out imo. From hollow fragment, to Lost song, to Hollow realization, to this, this is definitely the worst game out of the 4. The port is complete ass, first off. The game logic itself lags even though the framerate doesn't (though that's locked to 30fps). The quest design is just god awful. Finding where anything is to do anything is a nightmare since the game skimps on markers and gives no sort of landmark-based or directional descriptions on where things are. Even though it's a copy and paste of Lost Song they've somehow managed to make the combat less responsive, harder to control, and less skill-based. It's basically a skill spam like Hollow Fragment but with terrible 3D movement and half a cast that can't 3D move to begin with. Genuinely, this is the first of the SAO games that I will not finish. Hopefully it's not story-critical.

[h1]Sill holds up in 2026![/h1] The best SAO game (and the only Accel game) on PC (just my opinion, you can keep yours). Hollow Fragment and Hollow Realization combined would be the best game but sadly we can't have that, Lycoris is a gardener simulator basically where you expend 30 hours watching a worse version of the anime in visual novel format and the other 60 hours are fighting mostly the same flowers (yes flowers) and FIVE enemy types in the most boring and empty open world ever with the worst plot in any SAO game or anime, but I digress. . Game is a semi-open world , some areas are locked during certain missions , or need to progress in story to access these . There are a lot of Dungeons and side quests . There is a good number of characters , all with different fighting modes . Characters can be ugraded by a good number of items . Weapons can be upgraded / enhanced. . There is synthesis which mixes same type of weapons , the second one is absorbed / lost , but with it can gain different attributes to the same weapon . There is also a transform option for weapons , where after upgrading/enhancing weapon 10 times , you can upgrade also the rank by mixing the upgraded weapon , to same type of weapon ( 2nd weapon is absorbed /lost so to upgrade rank of first weapon. ) . There is a good number of items which are dropped by enemies when killing them , which are used to either upgrade character / weapons. . There are a lot of narrative clips to describe the situation or past of the characters, these skits can be skipped by clicking the left mouse button or press M and skip the whole thing. . Accel World vs. Sword Art Online was a fun game overall. I've never seen Accel World so I went into it mainly as a SAO fan, and I still had a great time. Seeing all of the SAO and AW characters together and experiencing a new story made it enjoyable from start to finish. While I'm sure Accel World fans would appreciate it even more, I still found it to be a solid crossover game. Overall, I'd definitely recommend it to SAO fans. 7/10
