(very long Review coming up) I am going to be brutal honest with this game and I will compare it to the old version. Before I start I have to say that as a person who played thousands of hours of strategic games I loved the first crusaders, actually I loved it too much and when I saw this version, I thought this version would be the same but way better... but I was wrong Crusaders Redux is dissapointing... I wanted to love the game (and I did for the first couple of hours) since I played the first version, I did not even wanted to play the campaign which I know in my guts that it will be the same as before. So I did my own campaign of conquering Brandor with every single leader and that was the only fun part... until reading how every single ruler having their TERRIBLE endings, the only person who have a good ending is the antares... what a joke. crusaders redux has bugs that first crusaders didn't have, these bugs would not be a big problem if the game just had a save mechanic. Like come on, not able to save? in this year? or the year that this game made? annoying. win/lose screen was way cooler but I have to say the talking before fights are cool there are a lo…3 found this helpful
Game is buggy and will softlock before you can complete the campaign.1 found this helpful
Was buying this game hoping it'd give me nostalgia but there're so many bugs that ruin everything1 found this helpful
classic
My only gripe with this game is how short it is. For the experience you get its great. The campaign runs through all the factions and takes the player through the story of the world. The campaign management gameplay is a great simplified version of total war games. This game would be perfect to play against a friend seeing as the ai never really pose much of a challenge on the campaign map. I can understand however as a learning game dev myself why it isnt multiplayer. The battle ai is great, and the survival mode gave me a proper challenge to get all achievements. RIP to the good factions for being inbetween the neutral and evil factions.
When you try to search for an ancient demon lord relic, only to remember that it's under the bed
