About Symphonic Rain

Rain...the eternal, never-ending rain.

In Piova, the city of music and endless rain, young men and women gather to pursue their dreams of becoming musicians. Chris Vertin is one of these young men, leaving his rural hometown and girlfriend behind to enroll in the Piova Communal School of Music.

Winter has come and it's been over two years since Chris began studying to become a Fortenist—a master of the magical instrument known as the Fortelle. Graduation is only a few months away, and Chris must perform an original song together with a vocal partner for his final examination. But Chris, feeling unmotivated and listlessly spending his days, has yet to even try to find a partner. His entire world consists of letters he receives from his girlfriend and a 14 centimeter tall musical fairy living in his room.

Let us play the Fortelle in time with the metronome of the rain's patter. When the sound of Chris's playing harmonizes with the voice of the musical magic fairy who knows what might happen?

Overall, Symphonic Rain is a pretty good visual novel and definitely worth reading, although I wouldn’t call it a masterpiece. The beginning feels quite normal and doesn’t seem that special, but the story slowly becomes more complicated than it first appears. There are some really interesting and emotional moments, especially in the more important routes. However, the pacing is quite slow, and I honestly found many parts boring to read. The side routes were also rather weak in my opinion, but the better routes and the overall story were good enough to make up for them. The music is enjoyable and fits the atmosphere of the game well. I wouldn’t say every song is amazing or memorable, but it still makes the experience feel more unique. Despite having romance, I don’t think you should play this game if you only want a sweet romantic story. It focuses more on sadness, personal struggles, secrets, and complicated relationships. There is also no sexual content, and the emotional atmosphere sometimes reminded me of Key’s visual novels. In the end, Symphonic Rain has a good story, nice music, and some memorable moments, but it can also be very slow and boring at times. I still think it…

a love-triangle authentic vn from decades ago that offers a melancholic theme with the setting of a city that constantly pours water from the sky and it never stops, the characters have their own distinctive personalities and there were certain twists that i didn’t expect to occur, it was a pretty slow start but considering this is an all-ages vn i honestly didn’t mind, lise’s route was my favorite since she reminded me of that one certain moment that had occurred in my life (i’m trying to sound vague here since it's personal and but it really did leave me a huge impact), overall it was a pretty good read, i was able to take my time leisurely and i didn’t regret getting it while it was on sale :p

if your looking for a longer narrative with a twist that reframes much of the early game I cannot recommend this enough, early routes do suffer from having little overriding narrative significance. Go into this game as blind as possible, though I do recommend you save Tortas route till the last of the first 3 available

I really wanted to like this game, it had everything I was looking forward to. Petite anime girls who have talents and the ability to fall for a plain gormless mc it's really quite perfect. But it just isn't, the girls lack personality I completed one ending and from what I saw holy ♥♥♥♥ it was like eating cardboard or talking to a non virgin woman. so very plain. Also, don't get me started on this ♥♥♥♥ ass melody timing thing I had to do and failed and had to auto do. Then you look at the guides and realise you have to basically go through a online maze to get the ending, you want, for the same plain anime girl. The setting and voice acting was pleasant and the tiny flying anime fairy made me happy, but this was a waste of my time. Still better then going outside and looking at 3d women. Only slightly better however 2/10.
