TAL: Arctic 2

The only reason I forced myself to play this was because I won it on SG and felt obliged to complete it 100%. Everything in this game is an absolute mess — clunky controls, awful level design, mind-numbing repetition, a character that constantly gets stuck in the environment, a depressing color palette, and grating music. I'm just relieved to be done with it. This is one of those games I’ll gladly forget forever. That was the first game of the "Gamedev" Snkl studio I've ever played forcing me to go to their studio page and Ignoring all the other "games" they've released.

TAL: Arctic 2 is a "template" flip. The "developer" filled out a basic maze template in the craptastic ClickTeam Fusion (a blight on gaming), changed the name/reskinned a couple of things, and put it on Steam as if it was their own game. This is very similar to the low effort "template" maze games from Blender Games/Cute Hannah etc and shares the same modus operandi from yet another Russian shovelware account. And, just like those other "template flips", this has zero real value as a serious PC game. It's just a maze game... basically the developer is trying to compete with the kids puzzle section of the newspaper. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The game features extremely lazy, minimalist "art", of the type you normally expect to see in low effort Flash/browser games and mobile apps. Considering this is being evaluated as a PC…

I lost myself in thoughts: why am I wasting my time on this () game? 我陷入了沉思：为什么我要在这个垃圾上浪费我宝贵的时间？ The BGM is repetitive, so I muted it. 背景音乐一直重复，我选择静音。 The levels are so easy that I know how to go through them immediately as they appear, while the game-play is incredibly annoyingly slow. The character's speed is extremely slow; even when I changed the global speed by external means, I could not turn left or right when I am close enough to the wall. I don't know why this "feature" is included in the game. 关卡过于简单，看到的一瞬间我就已经知道该怎么通关， 但是这个人走路走得是真nm的慢；我用科学与魔法调快整体速度妄图节省时间，但是贴近墙壁时甚至无法转向。真的离谱，我都不知道这“特性”为什么会存在，纯粹就是拿来恶心人的。 The graphics...... I have nothing to say about this topic. Just look at the officia screenshots at the store page, that's all. 关于画质......我无话可说。就看看官方商店界面的这些截图，这就是它的全部了。 Do not waste your time on it, this game will not make you happy. Your time worth much more than this. 不要在这个垃圾游戏上浪费时间，它不会给你带来快乐。你的时间值得被更有价值地度过。

Just as bad as the first game. Excruciatingly long wait to reach the end and only a couple of seconds needed to work out the correct way to traverse. Again, would be a good completionist game if it didn't take what felt like an eternity to finish.

I found it more boring than fun. If you already own it or are getting it as part of a bundle it does make for easy achievements, but that's about it. The mazes are easy to solve and there are no obstacles along your way.
