Tales of Terror is an indie survival horror title developed and published by BearfoxBear, currently released in Early Access. It attempts to blend cooperative gameplay with atmospheric horror, placing players inside a dark and abandoned research facility plagued by monstrous entities. Designed primarily with multiplayer in mind, the game supports solo play but clearly emphasizes teamwork as the intended way to experience its tense environments and unpredictable encounters. The setting plays a central role in establishing the game’s mood. Dimly lit corridors, abandoned laboratories, and echoing hallways create an oppressive atmosphere that leans heavily on sound design and limited visibility to generate fear. Environmental details are sparse but effective, with flickering lights and distant noises contributing to a sense of vulnerability. The horror elements rely less on elaborate storytelling and more on immediate tension—unexpected enemy appearances, sudden audio cues, and the constant awareness that danger may be lurking around the next corner. Gameplay revolves around exploration, resource gathering, and survival. Players search for items that can aid in navigation or provide …2 found this helpful
goofy ahh game, really fun with friends. i liked it.1 found this helpful
I played this game a couple of weeks ago with one friend It was silly, goofy, spooky where it needed to be with some unique gameplay that was unlike what I see in a lot of horror games and I play A LOT of horror games. I will say completely objectively that it did crash a couple of times while we were playing it, But it didn’t set us back too far, And we were enjoying it so much that we just laughed our way through it and kept right on. I’d LOVE To see more scary games like this.1 found this helpful
The game is very unoptimized, I received this game from a steam key as did my friends that tried to play with me, the in game UI broke to a point that I had to hold my mouse at least an inch away from a button to press it and most of the time it would not register. The two friends I had that could actually get into a lobby had a difficult time starting the game and their in game audio kept repeatedly looping. Based on the gameplay and footage provided on the page I think it could possibly be fun in a campy way, but with how immensely broken it was I can't rate it well. I think if the UI, Resolution and other aspects were more scale-able, it would work better. I hope that it improves and I hope to see it get fixed in the future to try it.1 found this helpful
this is a pretty good game, though here are something that can be improved: 1). Graphics could be improved 2). Playable character definitely needs better voices they are ♥♥♥♥ but can be improved upon 3). Facial expressions definitely need a rework because seeing my lips being perked up just aweful cause when you see them in the main menu they look great but in actual in game they are just eww 4). the hold door button definietly needs to be seperate from the interact button/turning on walkie talkies etc. 5). If we stuck in a object there needs to be a way to get unstuck and if you had a checkpoint with xxx amount of money and you click restart from the pause menu it takes all your coins away but if you die normally from an enemy then your coins are preserved, i feel that both restarting and dying should preserve the amount of coins you have when you reached a check point. beyond these issues i really liked the game though i want emphasize the characters voices sounds like AI and a version of AI that's terrible at most and i don't mind if you have to use AI to voice characters but as long as they are smooth and not crap!
the game is fun with friends but just a bit clunky LOL
