About Terminal squad: Swarmites

Terminal squad: swarmites is a game with indirect control where you must erect a chain of buildings, which generate resources for construction or the combat units for destruction of an enemy. The key to the victory is a smart sequence of actions and keeping of a balance between the erection of combat, defensive and manufacturing facilities.
Game features:
- A base as a single entity
- Fight against an infinite flow of enemies through erection of a chain of buildings
- Random level modifiers strengthen your enemy
- Use the skills and the explorations in the proper moment in order to gain a tactical superiority
- Adjust an energy flow to the buildings through their connection and disconnection in order to increase or decrease the rate of production or defence at a certain part of chain.

Players overwhelmingly describe this tower defense game as an unfinished, buggy mess that has been abandoned by developers for years. Common complaints include frequent crashes, poor controls (especially camera movement), confusing and unexplained mechanics, severe balance issues, minimal sound design, and AI pathfinding problems where units get stuck. While one player appreciated the tower defense core concept and another praised the theme, the consensus is that the game is too broken and incomplete to recommend, even at a low price.
Horrible game full of bugs where after the first mission which is just a lazily done endless attack of mobs ends up crashing my pc on exit. It did not help that many of the soldiers i was sending against the enemy kept getting stuck on the environment unable to move any further. Sound effects are almost non-existent with the same single grunting sound by the enemy creatures where i thought it was the human soldiers because of their human sounding grunt. A bug riddled mess best avoided while wishing all involved in its creation a successful path in life where each step is a victory forward in experience.5 found this helpful
Simply horrible. Under-explained, ridiculously unbalanced, and simply not worth it even for free. No fluff at all, a simple story would have taken a few minutes, but too much effort it seems. Controls are atrocious, how hard it is to move your view of the map with a ASWD keys? Sometimes if you push the mouse to an edge it moves, but not always. The core of the game is a series of square rooms connected by corridors. Each room can hold up to nine towers. As the game progresses, you eventually have five types you can build. Barracks, resources, energy, turret and research. As you advance your towers, they must remain connected to the base, though for some odd reason there is a mechanism to disconnect and reconnect them. Not sure why. You get a series of skills, I think, drone, overload, barrier and adrenaline. None seem particularly useful, half the time the drone returns to base without even reaching the battle. Adrenaline lasts a few seconds, after which your troops die if they take any damage. They can be upgraded, something I discovered by accident, not sure if they ever get really useful though, as they (like most things in the game) get very expensive, very quickly. This game is unfinished, it crashes easily, and has been abandoned by the devs. I love the tower defence genre and have played some pretty crappy games. Like mobile port to pc where the only settings are turning the music and sound off or on. All that to say, take my review with a grain of salt since what's decent for me could be unplayable for you. Overall, it's a 4/10 The Gameplay It's extremely basic, with abrupt difficulty curves everywhere. You choose a path, which only affects the rewards for the level, and get some randomizers. Effects like "enemies have a chance to split in two on death" or "enemy buildings reflect 25% of the damage dealt." You have five buildings, only having 3 at the start and 4 on the next level. This makes it so many people struggle to pass the first level as with insufficient knowledge and buidlings that box you in (the abrupt difficulty curve). Room layout varies between levels, mostly random and increases in size later on. Overtime you get skills you can upgrade and use during the levels to help against the waves which cost resources. Problems The pathfinding is awful. You will find soldiers stuck on buildings or in the corner of a room walking en…3 found this helpful
In general, a good game, Terminal squad: swarmites is an indirect control game where your task is to build a chain of buildings that produce resources for construction or units to destroy the enemy.3 found this helpful
PROS Topic and theme was great. First I thought this would be variation of Space Hulk... CONS - ...Unfortunately it wasn't. Whole game seems to be based on zerg rushes meeting in meat grinder. Except that casualities of what affects which seems hazy. There are just three rooms, I control two of them. I have six barracks producing soldiers, turret watching hallway to last one and drone available. Still aliens manage to pump up zerg rushes of their own constantly every time I even go near the final room. - You could also produce warehouses, but I've no idea what they produce. Nothing affecting the gameplay seemingly. Labs produce temporary boosts that feel are not worth it. Even the branching campaign feels weird non-consequential. - I left the game on for half a hour and checked what's happening and still both sides were just killing each other. Built more barracks with accumulated resources and waited for breakthrough to happen, but still aliens just match me, pumping up matching zerg rush after another. Time to uninstall.1 found this helpful
This game is an unbelievable terrible mess of "unfinished". You can see the base ideas what that game "couldve been one day" if it followed those principles. But overall it's barebones barely even considered to be a game. Achievements are buggy, no updates for over 4 years, barely any gameplay or mechanics that are fully realized. Definitely don't recommend buying this. Not for the low price it has, not if it is on sale, never.
