Then you should take a close look at Tesserarii, as this game is different from other dice games. You could say it's Dark Souls in the style of a dice game. You need high numbers to advance as the winner and thus receive large rewards. We have to make decisions that will determine the outcome. For example, we have to decide whether to face a boss or hope to advance on a lucky streak and put everything on one card. The dice rolls randomly, so we have to hope that luck is on our side. If we're on a losing streak, we can help ourselves with various power-ups that balance out the bad luck and allow us to complete the level. However, we shouldn't push our luck too far. I picked up Tesserarii and accidentally played for six hours straight—it's addicting. Each run feels fresh with unique power-ups, build variety, and endless ways to push for higher scores. Experimenting, strategizing, and even trying to break the game has been a blast. The creativity, replayability, and sheer potential makes it an easy recommendation. At this price, it’s a steal. I don’t usually leave reviews, but this deserves it.

This is great, once you've invested the energy to work out what's going on. With a bit of work on some QOL changes this could be a world beater, it's just a teeny bit opaque for the new entrant. Stick with it, it's well worth the admission price.

This is Tesserarii on the PC, a brand new game from an Indie Developer in 2025. Although I got this for free to play and I think this is a great game, if I could have paid for this at such a low price point, I would have done. If you like roguelike games, dice games, dungeons and power-up abilities this game is for you. Think a version of Yahtzee that is super fun to play and a time-sink. I loved this game and this video is my first play of it and I am pleased to say the game is a time-sink and it felt like I was only playing a few minutes. I really want to like this game. It's a roguelite Yahtzee battler. Sign me up! But it just seems so broken and unfinished. The Tutorial jumps right in with some fox guy who doesn't introduce himself explaining the rules. Seems fairly straightforward: you roll dice, try and get pairs, 3 of a kind etc. and deal damage to the enemies. (Not Full house or 5 of a kind though because you only seem to have 4 dice, but they're on the scoreboard anyway making you feel like something is broken. Maybe they're an unlock?) Anyway, the fox guy is gone now and a totally new character with a die for a head shows up without introduction and finishes the tutorial. And then the run continues. It plays okay at first, seems like higher dice rolls give more score and the level of that die on the scoreboard acts as a multiplier. There is a "Bonus" figure which isn't really explained, but that kept going up after every round. The bigger it gets, the longer it spends in this weird build-up animation whereby it grows in size (the text expands, not the number increasing), while the sound of somebody tapping a coffee mug in your ear gets louder and higher pitched. And then...it adds it to your score, and…
