The Broken Clock

As a seasoned RPG Maker veteran, I found this game to be way too easy. About 1 hour into the game, I even checked the settings to see if this had a hard mode (it doesn't) The story also failed to grab me. The plot needs much better heroes and villains. And it crashed 3 times in my 10 hours of play. The one positive I can give it, I did like the monster art during battles. Good job there at least. Since Steam has hundreds of other RPG Maker games of much better quality than this, I suggest skipping this one.

This game is incredibly rough. I played through to the end and was, unfortunately, very disappointed. The characters aren't interesting, the combat is unbalanced, the dungeons are annoying, there's a bunch of mechanical bloat, the game crashed a few times and was buggy at other times, and overall the gameplay just isn't fun. When I was at the final boss, unless they scale with the player's levels, I felt like it would have been impossible to beat it unless I was at max level. Most other combat encounters I was able to get through just by auto-battling. I understand that balancing a game is difficult so I feel working with smaller numbers might help. The dungeons all felt the same being basically hallway walking simulators, and some dungeons having switches that needed to be pulled could be pulled twice to turn them back off which was confusing. In addition, most dungeons were just spammed with a bunch of enemy tokens that made it annoying to traverse them. In terms of mechanical bloat, there were gameplay mechanics, like jumping, that felt unnecessary and didn't add anything to the experience of the game.
