Story:
A chance encounter amid the festivities of Guardia's Millennial Fair in Leene Square introduces our young hero, Crono, to a girl by the name of Marle. Deciding to explore the fair together, the two soon find themselves at an exhibition of the Telepod, the latest invention by Crono's longtime friend Lucca. Marle, fearless and brimming with curiosity, volunteers to assist in a demonstration. An unanticipated malfunction, however, sends her hurtling through a rift in the dimensions. Taking hold of the girl's pendant, Crono bravely follows in pursuit. But the world into which he emerges is the one of four centuries before. Journey to the forgotten past, the distant future, and even to the very End of Time. The epic quest to save a planet's future makes history once again.

During battle, time will not stop, and you can enter commands when the character's gauge is full. The enemies' positions will change as time passes, so choose your actions based on any given situation.

This is such a cozy game. I have my qualms, sometimes the pacing feels too fast, the game is far too easy, (i autobattled my way through the final dungeon practically) port issues (crashed a few times, would randomly have major lag spikes), and some obtuse mechanics like chest upgrading which aren't explained nor does it really make any sense. Despite its very few flaws though, I still loved my time with the game. i was engaged throughout, and i fell in love with the world and characters. Helps that the game is visually beautiful and the music is such a vibe. The time travel mechanic is implemented wonderfully and makes this game stand out among other jrpgs of the time, and even ones of today. It's the best SNES jrpg no doubt (yes, better than FFVI).
First off let me say this is my favorite SNES game . this game is amazing and i love playing it. i will say my main gripe is that the extra cutscenes that where brought over from the PS1 version don't play at all which is frustrating but not the end of the world imo. granted it does crash a lil which is an easy fix thru the nividia control panel which i found if u set the max frame rate down to 60 fps the power management to prefer maximum performance and vertical sync to fast it deff runs alot better and crashes a lot less yeah these are things that should of been fixed when brought to steam considering how old this game is. I deff recomend this game if you enjoy RPGs especially retro RPGS

Chrono Trigger is one of the greatest jRPGs ever made, so I was happy to finally see it arrive on Steam. Unfortunately, its launch was disappointing because the PC version was based on the mobile port. Thankfully, Square Enix listened to the criticism. Several major updates improved the UI, graphics options, controls, fonts, and overall presentation, making the game much closer to what fans expected. It's still not the definitive version of Chrono Trigger, but it's a much better port than it was at release. The game itself remains timeless. The memorable cast, fantastic soundtrack, multiple endings, and surprisingly engaging time-travel story are just as enjoyable today as they were decades ago. It deserves its legendary reputation. Unlike many of Square Enix's classic releases, Chrono Trigger has remained reasonably affordable, making it an easy recommendation for anyone who has never experienced this masterpiece.
