The Dream is a very strange little game, and I think that is probably the best way to describe it. It throws me into a post apocalyptic version of Barcelona in the near future, where the world has been wrecked by war and AI. Instead of being some heroic soldier trying to save civilisation, my job is basically to clean up radioactive AI waste while trying to survive. I honestly liked how ridiculous that idea is because it gives the game its own personality right away. The main gameplay revolves around exploring the city and cleaning up the radioactive mess scattered around the environment. The more I clean, the more money I can make, which gives me a simple reason to keep pushing further into the map. I liked that the game turns what sounds like a boring cleaning job into something much more dangerous. I am not just wandering around picking things up because there are hostile aliens and other threats that can make the job go very badly. The pulse gun is another important part of the experience. I can discover upgrades for it that change how it works and give me different firing options. Energy chargers are also scattered around the city, so I have to keep an eye on my energy while…
