In the indie horror game "The Exorcist" you immerse yourself in the atmosphere of a mysterious and creepy world, where you have to take on the role of a young exorcist. Having just finished your training, you go on your first assignment, and it turns out to be not as easy as you expected. It leads you to a church where there is already a coffin with an executed witch, over whose body the necessary rituals must be performed for several nights. Every step on the creaking floor causes an echo echoing in the empty halls. There is a feeling of fear and something otherworldly in the air. You feel that you are not alone in this gloomy place. Your main task is to expel the evil spirit inhabiting the body of the deceased witch.Using the ancient rituals described in the sacred books, you must find a way to expel the spirit from the dead body before it gets stronger and finds a new living body. During the game you will have to study the sacred texts, which are full of riddles and complex rituals. You will face various challenges — from puzzles to frightening encounters with ghosts and manifestations of dark forces. Your actions will determine how well you will cope with this terrible task. It is important not only to know what rituals to perform, but also to be able to respond to unexpected threats that may appear at any moment.Throughout the game, you will collect the necessary things and objects for the rituals that will help you in exorcising the spirit. Every decision you make will have consequences, and it depends on your choice whether you will be able to free the church from evil or remain forever in its shadow. Immerse yourself in the gloomy atmosphere of "Witch Exorcist", where your every action is worth its weight in gold, and fear and tension lurk around every corner. Rather than presenting the player as a typical horror protagonist trying to escape monsters or survive relentless attacks, the game places the player in the role of a young priest assigned to perform a dangerous exorcism. This premise immediately distinguishes the game from many survival horror titles, as the central goal is not simply to survive but to carry out a sacred ritual intended to banish a powerful supernatural entity. The story follows a newly ordained priest who is sent to an isolated church to confront a disturbing situation. A witch has died, but her corpse is believed to be possessed by a malevolent spirit that refuses to leave the body. According to ancient texts, a proper exorcism must be performed before the spirit grows stronger and escapes its confinement. Unusual inventory management, but cool immersiveness. It's been until 11 p.m., but it's too dark to play this alone in a room. I'll leave it for tomorrow. I spent about 15 hours playing this game. What could you possibly do with that much time if there's only about 5 hours of gameplay? It's simple: for me, this game was incredibly beautiful and engaging. I adore the architecture represented in this church. And then there's the atmosphere: to fully immerse myself, I tried to play in the evening/night with the lights off and headphones on. Next, I reduced the brightness so that the candlelight would work realistically. I'll tell you this: if you're holding a candle in your hand, the flame will cause your pupils to constrict, and you won't get the same illumination as from lamps. Before performing the First Night ritual, I walked around the church for about an hour without actually starting the exorcism. I was terrified to begin.
