About The Herbalist

"The Herbalist" is a calm and meditative logic puzzle game from the creators of "Everlasting Summer". Along with Slavya you will need to recreate magical potions recipes. The game features colorful anime style graphics, pleasant soft soundtrack and fruity plot scenes.

Plot:

One day Slavya came to spend summer at her Grandma's place, but nobody was there to greet her — the hut was empty. Slavya found an old book containing barely readable alchemy recipes. She decided to restore the knowledge lost — maybe she would be able to find out why did her Grandma disappear.

Game features:

  • Searching and gathering magical and normal herbs
  • Scores of unique potions and items
  • Lots of rich and spicy plot scenes
  • Game modding with new recipes, locations, events, etc.

Alright, confession time. Would I have bought this game if it didn't feature Slavya from ES? Probably not. Am I a simp and a looney? Yes. Do I sometimes sit in a corner and wonder what the hell I'm doing with my life? Yes. With that being said, this is a genuinely nice point'n'click game with a very basic but enjoyable story. The gameplay, while repetitive, is chill; although I strongly advise you wear a closed headset because the sound of your left mouse clicks might end up driving you crazy. Literally everything is done with the mouse. I'm not sure if the potion recipes have a logic to them, but they were all fairly easy to guess through trial and error. A little bit of grinding to do to get your money up but it's done quickly. I found the gameplay is well balanced between potion crafting, cooking, selling/buying, exploring & collecting, finding items in the barn and digging. Throughout the game, you'll randomly unlock pervy replayable scenes. They don't add much in terms of storytelling but they're fun and cute. The storyline is essentially nonexistent but it does have a nice little plot twist at the end which I must say I didn't see coming. It probably has quite a low re…

The Herbalist is a calm, contemplative indie experience developed and published by Moonworks that places discovery, experimentation, and atmosphere far above urgency or challenge. Rather than presenting itself as a traditional adventure or role-playing game, it functions more as a cozy narrative sandbox where curiosity is the primary driver. From the opening moments, the game establishes a gentle rhythm that encourages players to slow down, observe their surroundings, and engage with its systems at their own pace, making it stand out in contrast to more mechanically demanding titles. The premise revolves around Slavya, a young woman who arrives at her grandmother’s long-abandoned countryside home and discovers an old, partially illegible alchemy book. This discovery becomes the catalyst for the entire experience. Instead of launching into dramatic conflict, the game quietly invites players to piece together both potion recipes and fragments of backstory through gradual exploration. The narrative is understated and unfolds organically as players experiment with herbs, read notes, and uncover subtle hints about the past. This restrained storytelling approach allows the world to feel…

Хорошая добрая игра

Apparently you need a frying pan to cook anything and the game mocks you for not being able to get it. Apparently it is a random drop which seems like a really bizarre decision with how much of the game depends on you getting it.
