The Labyrinth of Grisaia serves as the bridge between the introductory character-focused drama of The Fruit of Grisaia and the series’ grander, more ambitious narrative arcs. Developed by Frontwing and published by Frontwing USA, it expands the universe in two principal directions: first, by offering “after stories” that show what life looks like for each heroine after the events of their respective routes; and second, by finally pulling back the curtain on protagonist Yūji Kazami’s past in a lengthy, emotionally charged main storyline. Where the first game focused on healing the heroines’ trauma, The Labyrinth of Grisaia turns inward and exposes the wounds Yūji has spent a lifetime concealing. This tonal shift gives the sequel a broader emotional spectrum—alternating between warm domestic epilogues and stark depictions of survival, violence, and psychological strain. (I have WAY more than 23 minutes in this game, as a disclaimer. More like 30 ish hours in the Uncensored-non-Steam version, plus my Steam version doesn't load properly) The Grisaia series are in the Visual Novel format. They are completely voiced, besides for the main character (you assume his role), but all the audible voices are in the original Japanese. I wouldn't have it any other way though, as they seem fairly masterfully portrayed. This game, "Labyrinth of Grisaia" is the sequel of "Fruit of Grisaia," a super in-depth visual novel, which is one of the most interesting, unique stories I've ever read/viewed. If you haven't played Fruit yet, you definitely will want to before playing Labyrinth of Grisaia. The Fruit of Grisaia is a rather large, realistic-feeling story that, once in the endgame, branches off into one of 5 different storylines, each based on what would happen if you romanced each of the different 5 main heroines. The Labyrinth of Grisaia continues each of those 5 unique alternate plot lines, called "After Stories." For that main reason, you should start reading Fruit first, but with one more caveat.
