The Leisure of Grisaia

Short but a lot of fun. It's a litte extra story for The Fruit of Grisaia.

This is a cute, but very short story. "The Leisure of Grisaia" was a freebie included when you bought one of the adapted anime volumes originally, so it makes more sense if you received it in that context. If you're a fan of the series and want to support the creators, purchasing this would be appropriate along those lines. "Leisure" is a side story, apparently, branching from "The Fruit of Grisaia," which is a 70 hour long visual novel. I'm not a big reader, the only things I've read are the Jurassic Park novels, Harry Potter, and the Hobbit, and now Grisaia, and maybe because it has 99% Japanese voice acting it makes it more entertaining to read through than anything else I've read. But I thoroughly enjoy these silly games. I just got through Fruit, Labyrinth, Eden, Magical Idol Chiruchiru..., and now this, and they rarely disappoint. The characters are all pretty interesting and feel realistically written and acted. Plus, my favorite, Michiru, apparently was the voice of Navi in Ocarina of Time... so I came full circle.

The Leisure of Grisaia is a deliberately relaxed and playful entry in the wider Grisaia universe, created as a tonal counterbalance to the emotionally heavy mainline titles. Developed by Frontwing and published internationally by Frontwing USA, the game is best understood not as a sequel or narrative continuation, but as a fan-oriented interlude that exists to celebrate character chemistry, humor, and everyday absurdity. Where the core Grisaia trilogy is defined by trauma, moral ambiguity, and intense psychological storytelling, The Leisure of Grisaia consciously steps away from that weight, offering something closer to a comedic breather that rewards familiarity with the cast. The setting returns to Mihama Academy, but stripped of looming conspiracies and emotional confrontations. Instead, the focus is on idle moments, exaggerated situations, and character banter that highlights the personalities fans already know well. The narrative is intentionally low-stakes, unfolding as a series of humorous vignettes rather than a tightly structured plot. Incredibly short spin-off (around 40min) which just basically shows an average day of the heroines from the Grisaia series, it brings nothing new to the story so it kinda but i had my fun nonetheless P.S Better to buy it on some discount or as a part of the bundle, not worth getting it alone unless you already have other entries from the main Grisaia series
