"Darsius was a peaceful man and farmer who never hurt anyone in his life. He did, however, possess a power that other mortals did not...the power of fire. His village feared this and sold him into slavery with his hands bound so he could not cast spells. He was sent to the dreaded Mines of Morseph to labor for life...

Then one day, an unspeakable evil appeared and brought hordes of undead to destroy the miners and seize control of the mines. Darsius survived and there were no signs of other survivors. During the commotion, his chains were snapped thus freeing him to cast magic. He is one man alone in the mines of evil; locked in and unable to find the mine key to escape. Here is his tale..."

"The Mines of Morseph" is a Java browser app that got dumped on Steam as a paid product. It's a garbage attempt at making some kind of dungeon crawler that was completely rejected by all gamers because, well, it's garbage made with Java. In 2017. And the production quality of this Java app is on par with the decision to make a game using Java and then publish it on Steam. Terrible. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The artwork here is terrible, it's a blend of old retro pixel "art" used as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics, and some of the most amateurish MS-Paint style drawings I've ever hurt my eyes on. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget to arrange someone who can do graphics properly, or lack of talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result of these decisions. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. Very cool indie RPG obviously set in some mines. Neat combat system. Definitely pick this up, especially if it's on sale.
