BROKEN ON RTX 50-SERIES WITH NVIDIA 610-SERIES DRIVERS Not recommended until this compatibility issue is fixed. On an RTX 50-series GPU, The Pathless crashes or fails to launch when using NVIDIA’s 610-series driver branch. The temporary solutions are to roll back the entire PC to an older 500-series driver, such as 591.86, or use an unofficial workaround like DXVK. This is not isolated to one game. Similar 610-series driver problems also affect A Plague Tale: Innocence and Life is Strange: Reunion, which crashes when using Max’s rewind ability. Players should not have to repeatedly downgrade their system-wide graphics driver or install third-party wrappers to play games they purchased. DualSense Edge support is also missing. The controller is not recognized natively, despite the game supporting the standard DualSense and its special features. Steam Input provides only basic translated controls, while DSX is required to emulate a standard DualSense. Please work with NVIDIA and release a proper compatibility update. Love the excellent graphics, love the music, love the lore, love the mechanics, all of it was a ten out of ten for me! The open world was epic too, the foliage and animals, and the bones and shrines added a lot to the atmosphere.
This might genuinely be one of my new favourite games. The movement mechanics are really satisfying with the talisman shooting and the gliding, the only problem I have with it on occasion is that when doing parkour on foot it can get a bit choppy leading to missed jumps/overshooting/going in the wrong direction, but that might also just be a skill issue on my end lol. The music and general sound effects are nice and fit the overall vibe of the game really well. Once you learn which sounds to look out for it gets easier to find the secrets needed to get more flaps/unlock achievements. Speaking of secrets, it took me a while to figure out how the mask worked exactly, as I initially thought it just showed the towers and not all the other places to find secrets and the lightstones needed to activate the towers. But once I understood it, navigating became much easier and a lot of fun :) I've seen some people talk about their struggles with the bosses. Personally I found them a lot of fun. Yes, the graphics are nice, and the soundtrack is quite good, but the gameplay isn't. 95% of the time you run around and collect items, solving puzzles along the way. Those puzzles all follow the same pattern and are all quite easy. All in all, no real feeling of achievement. The other 5% are combat against the area bosses. Not impressed, got bored very quickly.
